I said on someone else’s post that I was thinking a Hunter or Shadow Priest, but I can’t decide which. Hunters I’m considering because I haven’t heard anyone say they were wanting to roll one, but in classic they were stronger levelers/decent dps at 60. A shadow priest I’ve always wanted to play, but I’m hesitant because of the whole wand thing, but I also haven’t seen anything about mana regen yet. I’m into both PvE & PvP… Anyone have any other pros and cons to my decision? Maybe stuff in overlooking? Thanks in advance!

What wand thing are you referring to? I’m thinking that either would be fine and if anything you could always level both up to 25 and see which you prefer. I’m hoping that shadow priests get vampiric touch at some point too to help shore up their mana (or shadowfiend?) I think shadow is getting some really nice aoe stuff with mind sear and the shadow word: pain aoe damage thing
Wand thing I mean having to put the 5 points into Disc for the extra wand damage. Very true about just leveling. Both classes are strong in PvP and PvE; I’m curious when it comes to the raising aspect will groups take 1 class over the other. I’m not sure if anyone has heard if there are getting rid of debuff slots or not because I know dots are a big part of a shadow priests damage.
I think the melee hunter looks like a ton of fun. Looks like the hunter “kings” will be an aspect so it will probably fall on melee hunters to bring it since ranged hunters will lose a ton of dps by running aspect of the lions. Shadow priests just don’t feel like they will be fully fleshed out at lvl 25 but the utility they could bring is interesting.
Oh, well the leveling with wand spec is just an efficiency thing. You don’t need to do it, but it basically just makes it so that you have basically 0 downtime. You could always hard cast with spells the whole time, you’ll just have to drink more.
I’m going in with the assumption that the debuff capped is removed since it was gone in the last season. (I also vaguely remember blizzard mentioning that it will be gone?)
I’m not the most knowledgeable on hunters in classic, but I thought that the double kings buff from that aspect would be nice if you went surv since you want as much agil as possible in that spec
