SoD has ruined guild cohesiveness

As someone that has long played Era and SOM for many years, 10 man raids in Season of Discovery have really ruined guild comraderie. Separating 40 man guilds into 10 man content has really taken away a lot of what was fun about classic.

I also wish they would bring back the original 40 man bfd raid unlike the 10 man version we had in phase 1. Just a shame what they have done.

Yup. Furthermore the casual nature of it all has turned it into retail light. Nobody engages in the guild. 40 mans are going to be a real pain to put together at 60 if phase 3 isn’t at minimum 20 man. I was actually just thinking earlier of just not playing it anymore. Feels like a solo game until raid time even in the beginning of the phase.

It’s definitely something different. The 3-day reset also throws a wrench into things. It’s weird.

I am noticing virtually no guild recruitment messages.

Something is wrong.

This has not been my experience. I have been having possibly the best guild experience in SOD that I have ever had playing the game since Vanilla.

And their first post on the WoW forums was today … coincidence?

Play a guildless character awhile and you will get all the spam whispers.
They use the direct approach now, so you can’t avoid them.
Unsolicited nuisance.

I can avoid everything with GlobalIgnoreList. I just have to write a new rule for it.
but even as guildless it took a few hours to find a new guild. Granted i didnt try very hard but usually there’s much more spam.

It feels very different this time, somehow. I’ve been playing for a very long time and this is the first time it’s like that.

This is absolutely 100000% true and I support this post wholeheartedly.

You have NO idea how irritating it is to maintain a guild identity with 4+ splinter factions all doing their own thing at different levels.

Not to mention the utter horror it will be to try and transition into 40s at 60.

Can we PLEASE get a raid that is not 10 man before 60?

10 man will ALWAYS be better than 40 mans.

Maybe your guild was ruined, but guilds in general are perfectly fine.

The days of needing 39 other nerds for 10+ hours per week to progress from Lucifron to Geddon, or from Broodlord Lashlayer to Chromaggus, or Fankriss to Twin Emperors are gone with 2007.

good riddance

there’s nothing good about 10mans when compared to 40man raids.

Well we’ll never agree on that… I’ll take 10 man 100 times out of 100.

I’m not looking for an agreement, I’m explaining to you why you’re wrong.

imo 10 and 20 are the only acceptable raid sizes as anything larger is just a mess

I’m not wrong, plus you have to start explaining why you “THINK” I’m wrong.

the grandeur. is there in 40man, it’s not there in 10man.

raids are grander versions of dungeons.

it’s so easy.

That is purely opinion and your personal reasons for preferring 40-mans.

I say 40 mans are a waste of time to put together, when I can put together 10 man is fraction of the time.

So, 10-man > 40-man.
