SOD: Frostfire Bolt not benefitting from crit chance from talents/runes

It is hard to tell what crit talents/runes are not being applied but if you look at the many logs on WCL of fights greater than 2min (because short fights cause combustion to mask this issue), frostfire bolt crit chance is much lower than it should be.

Raid buffed with the burnout rune, mages should easily have 35% or more critical strike chance. Yet, Frostfire crit % throughout the fight is under 20%, and I see logs as low as 8% despite a high amount of casts.

I suspect that the burn out rune (15% crit) is not being applied to frostfire bolt, and potentially crit chance from fire and frost talents.

There is also reports that frostfire bolt doesn’t get extra crit from the shatter talent in frost, but I don’t play that spec so can’t confirm.

Combustion seems to work to some degree though!

Hey Ive been noticing this too, never posted on the forums before but your post was the only one I could find about this issue.
I have noticed from my own details dmg meter many times FFB is not critting nearly as much as it should be. My mage has 36% crit and FFB is sitting around 19% most of the time, meanwhile scorch and fireblast almost always show around 35%.
I know ur post is 19d old as of now so maybe we’re the only 2 that care, but it would be nice to at least know the cause so i could spec differently or change burnout rune maybe?
Anyway hopefully this will be looked at eventually

This is also something I have noticed and discussed with many mages and people in my guild, there is something wrong with the FFB crit chance not matching your characters chance.
