SoD Devs please

in any video update, any patch update, any update at all. Please keep reiterating to the playerbase that this game is intended to be built on classic design philosophies and to stop asking for every retail feature under the sun that will lead the game right back to where we dont want it to be. Make sure the community knows the intended path of this version of the game so they stop with the nonsense

Go back to Era then.
This is Blizz’s chance to make changes in a Classic WoW environment and give us something special. It’s not Retail, It’s not Classic Era. It’s its own thing.

thank you for your valued input

Says who?

Certainly not Blizzard, who said outright the intention is to keep the spirit of Classic Vanilla.

There’s far too many of you making this assertion and similar ones with nothing to back it up besides your headcanon.

This is a Seasonal Classic Vanilla Server, inspired and motivated by the Classic+ crowd. There’s a reason two seasonal servers both happened in Vanilla, and not in any other version of the game so far.

You can still keep the “Spirit of Classic Vanilla” and have quality of life updates that weren’t in Classic Vanilla, the two ideas are not mutually exclusive. If you really really want #NoChanges then there is literally an option for that. People asking for things or suggesting ideas to Blizz in what they want to see moving forward is not “Headcanon”

They do this every video. That is what is so funny about the stuff people request. It’s very entertaining how dumb people are. I love it.

friction and lack of ease is part of the reason your achievements within the game feel better in classic. if everything comes easy and theres no chance of failure you have a game that matters less.

Hubris is thinking you can do it different because youre smarter then those who did the same things in the past

I actually agree here, I don’t actually think every single QoL or future update/change instantly makes the game “exactly like retail” or “just like retail” and this phrase has been thrown around enough times around here as to completely dilute any and all meaning.

Retail is where it’s at today due to a domino effect of MANY changes over the base original game. Not just one or two, which was proven in the original Classic launch when #NoChanges almost immediately lost credibility and there obviously needed to be some changes.

That doesn’t mean being conservative about said changes is a conceptual error though.

I think the devs should stealth nerf the raids every lockout to agitate the sweat lords.

Why are they using the classic client then?

Using the term sweatlord basically just tells everyone that you are garbage and need to make excuses why you are that way.

They already stated their intent.

They want to keep the heart of classic and respect people’s time.

But they’re also talks of implementing multiple difficulties for different types of players.

They are still trying to “respect people’s time”, but it is very clear that they are taking small details from retail and putting them here.

Classic wow is already the easiest iteration of WoW - is achieving things easily has no merrit than classic wow has no legs to stand on

What’s being illustrated here is that many people have different ideas on why retail is bad. I think retail is horrendous because of its underlying gear progression theme park ride. I can’t stand the unskippable dialogue in choreography everywhere. BGs/honor grinding seems to just be a side novelty for raiders to do in between raids.

But the QoL is great. The classes play so fluently and dynamically. A lot of fun to pilot.

There’s no reason not to pull from what works. That said, not everyone is going to agree on what works and what doesn’t work. And that’s something that all of us will have to accept. You will not be 100% satisfied.

Hunter dead zones should have never been in the game, the only reason it is, is so they can force hunters to melee weave. You know how many times I’ve heard a Hunter say “It would be cool to melee half the time!” Never, the answer is never ever.

Or… now hear me out… maybe focus the game around what the majority of players want and not just a niche group.

Retail is a dumpster fire because of 20 years of changes and a focus on esports. Classic is so boring that only a small subset of players still play it. SoD introduces new things not seen in retail or classic, but could still use some things that give players something to do besides PvP.

then why do you keep demanding retail crap be added to it

lmao

Take your own advice and go back to retail

So we should rely on the self-important people who think that what they want is the best for the game?
