SoD .5 Quest Bugged

Hello, I just recently reached level 60 on an alt (named Ernurse) in Season of Discovery. Wanted to do the .5 dungeon tier quest line and completed the initial quest “An Earnest Proposition” just fine with no issues. Now however, the quest NPC, named Deliana, does not offer the next quest, titled “A Supernatural Device”. I have tried layer swapping several times, logging in and out several times, and even waiting 24hrs. This quest line seems to be bugged for me and I am no longer able to continue it. Any help would be appreciated.

I was able to complete the entire questline on my main character many phases ago with no issues. Has anyone else experienced this issue or know ways to still progress the quest chain?

yeah same here friend i contacted a GM and this is what they told me

I can see that you are sadly not able to get the A super natural Device quest, which I am sorry to hear, I can tell you that, as a gamer myself, a situation like this will surely bother me too, but, I assure you that this is never our intention, and all we ever wanted for our players was to have fun playing the game, that they always loved, and played.

You, yourself, are a veteran, and have been for a while, and for that, I appreciate your presence with us for all these years, loyal, comrade, and I am glad you took some time to report the incident as a bug, since, as my fellow Game Master kindly informed you, the best way to go with this here is to submit a bug report on our forums, as our developers are always keeping an eye out on these forums for any new, or recent issues that came up, and they are working as fast as they can to get this issues fixed.

So, kindly rest assured that we will get this bug fixed in no time, with that said, have a lovely rest of your day :slight_smile:

also someone commented on wowhead from the year 2006 saying they had a problem with this quest… like how come were still experiencing the same bugs from 19 years ago…

Well that’s sad to hear. I’ve received a mostly identical copy/paste reply for another issue I encountered a while ago. End result being the ticket was force closed and still to this day that character cannot do the main War Within quest line because of a bugged portion that happened in the first week. Guess I’ll just skip that set/quest line if there isn’t anything that can be done… Shame because that gear is very good for spriest even still.

Having the same issue and I opened a GM ticket and they just told me to put in a bug ticket so I did that, hopefully it gets some eyes on it

Got a GM response to my in game ticket today:

Hey Ernurse!

From what I gathered, you’re having some issues with starting the quest “A Supernatural Device”, despite having completed the prerequisites and having tried layer swapping and re-logging - this is certainly not ideal and I understand how it can take a toll on your progression, however, upon taking a look, we were unable to find any known issues with the quest or workarounds that we can provide, therefore, be sure to try to disable your add-ons, reset your UI (link to article) and check again.

If none of the above works, since we can’t directly add the quest to the log, we’d be thankful if you could submit a bug report from your side to have this investigated and fixed by our Dev team. Check the following link to know more: (link to article)

I have tried everything mentioned including try on a fresh game client install on another computer with no luck. Clearly it isn’t an isolated issue if other players are also experiencing it. Hoping this post will get some eyes on the issue. While I know I could just go and buy t1 with reals from the vendor in Booty Bay, I enjoyed the .5 quest line and it’s a great place to start with gear for fresh characters who don’t have the gear to get into raids or even geared dungeon groups.

I linked this forum post in my ticket response stating I have tried all options and received the following response which is a bit more hopeful for a future resolution, important bits bold and italicized.

Let me said we have received several reports also from this channel of this issue and are currently investigating it, so worry not! Our developers are aware of the situation and are currently working on a fix to be implemented as soon as possible.

Please keep in mind bugs are things outside the game mechanics we use and GM’s cannot traspass this mechanics. What it makes a difference doing a bug report is that our developers can continue to investigate all the affected account wih the reports of it. . Forums channels are regularly monitored by the developers, and they’re the best way for you to directly share your insights, ideas, and concerns with the team.

This fixes can take time that we cannot limit neither reply since all information regarding Bug fixing will be announced on our Social Media so please keep an eye on them!

Same issue here, got a response saying:
Let me thank you for taking the time to link this forum post, I have reviewed the quest “A Supernatural Device” for you, and can confirm that we have received reports about it being bugged indeed. I sincerely apologize that you’re facing this. Your patience is greatly appreciated.

I understand that waiting is never pleasant completely, as GM(s) can’t fix a mechanic that is not working properly, we will have to ask you to submit a bug report for it. I thank you in advance for your patience and understanding, valued hero, and sincerely apologize about any inconvenience.

the quest on alliance side; In Search of Anthion (8929) is also not appearing. disallowing continuation of the questline to unlock dungeon tier 2 gear. ive talked with others and they too are having this issue.

Just had the same issue. “An Earnest Proposition” completed. I got the bracers, but can’t get the next quest.

Just wanted to give an update for this issue I and others were encountering:

It was miraculously fixed for my priest character as of this reset/maintenance. Hopefully it’s the same for all others affected by this!
