Social Contract Notice, again?

They should be required to highlight the changes and not just shove the entire document at us over and over.

It might have been updated is my guess.

I would be ok with that.

I don’t think it does change, but if something is changed a little change log or something would be nice to see.

Probably cause alot of people react to longer server maintenance like so.

I’ve had it pop up two, three times. Ain’t really a sign of wrongdoing, just a reminder to, y’know, not be a jerk to others.

I can’t post pictures. Is it still not allowed to make that ASCII Picard facepalm?

My friend, agreeing to “play nice” in someone else’s backyard is not being a sheep. It’s being civilized.

I choose to waive that :warning:

Adults, not unlike children, need reminders that there will be consequences if they do not behave civilly. Since covid people are angier and more aggressive then they’d been probably since the 1960s and Vietnam civil rights movements. Special thanks to social media and alternative ‘news’ . People just don’t look in the mirror these days and if they do, they don’t care. Abuse the waitress and if anyone does the same to them in a similar situation, they get extremely upset.

What are you talking about, children Need reminders of that like every two minutes

LoL. It really depends on the personality of the child. Some children by nature are models of behavior and the parents take the credit. Others are going to get a bottle of JD at age 14 and steal their dad’s motorcycle out of the garage for a joy ride regardless of how they are raised.

Did you read it this time? Did you know that even making a joke such as saying “Razageth is the ugly sister” is an actionable offense according to this contract? It’s considered verbal abuse. Yes you can and will be silenced for “verbally abusing” a fictional character. How do I know? It literally happenrd to me. I got a seven day silence for making that joke in lfr. I know because I appealed it and they showed me why I was silenced. The joke with the date and timestamp tagged as verbal abuse. Yes even when an actual person looked at it, the silence wasn’t lifted. This social contract is a joke. It’s an appalling assault on a player’s ability to speak in the game and it’s just one more way for blizzard to punish it’s players for its own misdeeds. It’s spiteful in nature. When they lost that lawsuit their attitude towards the player base dramatically shifted. I mean it’s always been the case that many of us felt unheard over the years. Now it’s the opposite. They listen to us. They watch and wait. Especially when the herd comes together on a bad idea for the game they implement it. Like theyre trying to teach us a lesson or something. The GMs the two or three that are still even there srent even nice anymore. They’re impersonal and official like dealing with a government official from the IRS or something.

If that really happened, that sucks. I hope its not gotten that bad.

This is actually entirely in-line with the ToS
Not so much because of the fictional character aspect, as that largely is irrelevant, but rather because it creates a more toxic environment

Jokes are always going to be a case of hit or miss, and when you tell the wrong joke to the wrong audience … that is verbal abuse - it doesn’t have to be directed at any one particular character
Is it a bit silly? Sure, but considering several people in that LFR didn’t think it was funny and constituted enough to report you over it … your joke wasn’t seen as particularly “funny”, or much of a “joke” in that case

But honestly considering on the tirade you went on after that I’m more inclined to believe you ain’t telling the whole story

Most likely it hasn’t

You see folks post these things in the customer support forums here every so often and they almost all end up admitting to having said more stuff, usually after one of the admins have a brief look at what happened

But even so, a joke in poor taste can be read as verbal abuse regardless - what matters is largely three things; did someone report 'em for it, and did the report match what they said, and was what they said something which is against ToS

But IF it did… Not saying it did, its a big farfetched extreme claim, I am heartily doubting its truth, but if so… Its unacceptable and abhorrent to take action over such a small, harmless and in universe comment. If true, its gross. It would be a insane abuse of power, the system, and outright antagonistic of the GM who handled it.

I met you.

No it happened last month. It’s the first time ive ever experienced anythung like it in the game and I’ve been around since 2009. That’s why I “went on a tirade” because I never expected something like that to happen. I wouldn’t even imagine it the whole idea is ridiculous.

Context is what matters

The selected language in reports that they show as the reason is usually the language itself that was reported - context prior to it is usually not included

Perhaps there was a change/addition in the language re: tender-related bundles from the cash shop and that’s caused it to come up for agreement again.

Is it, tho? Think about the times you’re living in my man. We don’t live in the 90s anymore.

I am sure there was alot more to it if it happened, but for the sake of ‘what if’ if that was all they said, and they got actioned for it, it would be very, very bad. But thats why I said 99.99% sure its false, in that specific way. If it got that extreme people would just LEAVE. No one is gonna stay in a police state style MMORPG.
