Social Contract Notice, again?

That’s not how it works.

And again, it’s random and has nothing to do with getting sanctioned.

Do you have some sort of internal knowledge of how the system works? Please share!

It’s popped up 2x for me. Once the first time they implemented the “Social Contract” as a popup reminder and the second time a few months later. I’ve never been sanctioned, so that’s not the case at all. It’s just a reminder that pops up every few months.

What internal knowledge does one need to understand why the popup being randomly selected for users at random times doesn’t make any sense?

Why haven’t I seen it again since it became a thing like over a year ago? If they do want to remind their players about it, why don’t we all get the popup again at the same intervals?

It’s not a problem, persay. It’s a bit unnerving, like it thinks I did something wrong, when I haven’t :o

I think its they changed the TOS slightly somewhere, but it begs the question why are not all people getting it? shrugs I dunno. Its spooky but I know I am not in trouble, I was just wondering and asking if others had the same deal.

It’s just a contract. Not unlike the emails we get from banks, Google, etc when they want to remind us of the terms.

Nothing was changed.

Yeah. I feel likes its easily abusable, but uhh… That tends to be a testy topic so I will not go into it…

This is going to be an internet wide thing soon.

Not true.

Classic :sheep: mentality.

Only the weak ‘go along to get along’; they will never be leaders, trend-setters or world-changers.

The part where this doesn’t make sense, since it does make sense

There’s about five billion different possible reasons, so here’s 6 of 'em that I just now thought of:

  • If you reinstall the game that could trigger it
  • Internal server error that makes it think you haven’t done it
  • Random update interacting with a piece of code weirdly
  • Because random players could be getting it
  • Infractions, whether just being reported or ont, could be part of it
  • You honestly could’ve forgotten that you did do it another time (look up the “mandela effect”)

There’s about an infinite number of entirely logical reasons and explanations for it

Thank God, that would be a miserable life to live.

Almost to the point we need captchas too. Especially during the Creation Catalyst fiasco

At any rate, thanks for the replies guys, no other message has been had, no email or ticket or ingame mail, all is well, just seemed odd. But what seems odder is peoples experiences with the notification, and it seems totally random. But like, why?

If an update of some kind was made to the TOS or a large scale patch that would bring alot of players back, why not have one blanket notification for all players upon first login after the game is up?

Random feels really inefficient and seems to stir up concern.

It doesn’t.

Yes it’s true. An auto squelch is not a ban. Go ask CS about that.

There is no ‘auto ban’ system.
