I just wanna make sure im understanding this correctly, for this new mount, am I going to need 7 different characters? Or can I do all 7 challenges on a few characters? Like can I do 3 on my warrior, then do 2 on my hunter, then do the last 2 on my shaman? Probably a stupid question but I just wanna make sure this is clear so im prepared.
Probably 7 different toons as individuals. Since these recolors are class based and not spec based like the legion artifacts were.
So we will probably need to do it on 7 different classes to get the mount.
But I think the good news here is that this won’t go away. We will have no till forever to complete it and get the mount. This is probably a permanent fixture with the legion timewalking
Oh yea for sure. I just like getting things done fast and efficiently, so I just wanted to be prepared to have a bunch of different characters to do this on release. If this is the case ill be ready for whatever, just didnt wanna waste time leveling a bunch of characters up for no reason
From my understanding, it’s just one from each of the challenges. So if you have a toon that can cover most of the challenges, do all of them then have alts that can cover the rest. Theres 7 challenges total.
-
“Closing the Eye” for Frost Death Knight, Havoc Demon Hunter, Survival Hunter, Subtlety Rogue, and Arms Warrior.
-
“An Impossible Foe” for Unholy Death Knight, Feral Druid, Fire Mage, Outlaw Rogue, Elemental Shaman, and Fury Warrior.
-
“The God-Queen’s Fury” for Arcane Mage, Retribution Paladin, Assassination Rogue, Enhancement Shaman, and Demonology Warlock.
-
“Feltotem’s Fall” for Beast Mastery Hunter, Windwalker Monk, Discipline Priest, and Destruction Warlock.
-
“The Highlord’s Return” for Blood Death Knight, Vengeance Demon Hunter, Guardian Druid, Brewmaster Monk, Protection Paladin, and Protection Warrior. (This is the tank one)
-
“End of the Risen Threat” for Restoration Druid, Mistweaver Monk, Holy Paladin, Holy Priest, and Restoration Shaman. (This is the healer one minus Disc priest)
-
“Thwarting the Twins” for Balance Druid, Marksmanship Hunter, Frost Mage Shadow Priest, and Affliction Warlock.
i.e Druid can cover Highlord, Twins, Impossible Foe, and Risen Threat by itself.
Latter, you can do all 7 challenges on a few characters. They are spec-based. The article on wowhead has them listed by spec so you can which ones your class covers and which your alts can cover.
no, you’ll just need 7 different specs that all have different challenges.
in theory you’d just need 2 toons if one of them was a druid and the other wasn’t a DH. Provided there were no overlapping challenges.
Yea I just wanted to make sure that was the case
Need 3 minimum, their tank specs overlap
Does anyone know if this will hit ptr? Curious what ilvl needed to do some of these
gotcha, I didn’t actually look at the challenge breakdown.
At minimum, you’ll need three characters, assuming your main classes don’t all share the same bosses.
If you have a Paladin and Hunter, for example, you can do six of the bosses between the two, and would need a DK, Druid, Mage, Rogue, Shaman, or Warrior to handle the seventh.
Took a close look at the challenges out of curiosity, it’s impossible to do it with two characters. The three bosses Druids don’t fight aren’t all accessible by any single class, so you’ll still need a third character to fill them out.
Yes.

I’m interested in unlocking the majority of the class sets, but I’ll try and avoid doing specific challenges on certain specs. Like, Xylem, for example? Do it Havoc, as opposed to survival, or Arms. Agatha? Unholy DK or feral, much better than on outlaw.
Then again they’re rescaling and normalizing it, so I might be super wrong, or overthinking it.
Pretty sure you can just do all 7 challenges if you have the right character configuration for it.
Ele shaman is going to clown on her.
