I’m assuming since one of our baseline abilities is now so far down the talent tree and none of the online guides recommend picking it, it is now a dead ability? I know no one ever picked meteor so there goes that reason to pick it as well. Thoughts?

Most of the guides seem to be picking Blast Wave instead, but I’m not feeling it.
I haven’t found a viable way to get down to Dragon’s Breath right now without making serious cuts elsewhere.
When we start leveling again, DB will likely be back on the table. Hopefully the guides will pass over BW in favor of DB.

‘Guides’ are largely useless right now until we hit max level and have max talent points

It’s mandatory in pvp.
I will be picking up db and meteor in dragonfkight at 70 regardless what guides say.
Critting with meteor on adds with rop is just awesome and fun to me.

not every ability in the game revolves around raiding.
db is for cc obviously, and meteor still claps i watched some oneshots with G-pie’s and meteor a bit ago.
and meteor is even better now that every mage get’s Slow to help keep them in range.
