I request that game devs remove the 10 second cooldown on soar in Midnight.
It made sense for it to have a cooldown with the previous design of dynamic flight. However, with the current changes, every flying mount gets a free launch into the air, no cost, no cooldown incurred.
As it stands, soar is now mechanicaly inferior to regular flying mounts. However, I enjoy flying in dragon form, it makes for great immersion. So, in short, it’s only fair to make soar as advantageous as other flying mounts.
Absolutely is no longer needed. I’d love to see it insta-cast personally. It wont be like druid cause we couldn’t do it in combat anyway and it would be really neat to be able to transform from glide to flight jumping off a cliff.

Would be nice to just… use it. Particularly now that there is no vigor involved with takeoff. It makes no sense they didn’t remove the cooldown, and it just feels overlooked.
I second that notion! Or… I guess since 4 other people have already agreed with the first notion… that makes me the 6th? I sixth that notion! Doesn’t have the same heft to it.
Anyway, remove the cooldown and please add a “Demon Form Soar” for Demon Hunters as well.
How so? Demon Hunters, when in demon form, are the same as Illidan. Just say that you don’t want Demon Hunters to have soar simply because you don’t.
I mean it’s perfectly fine if that’s what you want, but you don’t have to grasp at straws for pseudo arguments to justify it.
Next time, just say say something like Demon Hunters can have functioning wings but I don’t want them to fly. It’s ok that if that’s your reason but at least be up front about it.

In WoW lore, demon hunters can glide and make short aerial bursts using their wings, but they cannot actually sustain true long-distance flight except in rare cases with uniquely powerful individuals like Illidan.
Do the research yourself, you’ll find that it’s accurate.
Player characters don’t become Ilidan when they transform, that’s like saying dracthyr are all as powerful as Sarkareth.
If you’re going to be this emotional, at least be correct.
Demon Hunters are actually getting a talent in Midnight to increase their glide speed. This seems like Blizz saying yes, we know you want a flight form, too bad, here’s a slight advantage to what you already have.
I wish Evoker would get that talent too, but it’s not likely since we do have a functioning, if imperfect, flight form.
I get that Illidan is in permanent Demon form after consuming the skull of Guldan, so lorewise he doesn’t have to expend any extra energy to maintain the transformation. Whereas Dracthyr are merely taking on their true form when taking flight.
I would actually prefer a base form demon hunter flight form to avoid this lore inconsistency. However, I’m aware that making an accurate smooth flight animation for Night elves, Silvermoon Elves and possibly other future character rigs would be more work than simply making a cookie cutter Metamorphosis flight rig for the class.
Sounds like your projecting your own hostility. If you read my statement in an angry tone and came to the conclusion that I’m “going after someone” then you should look inward and ask yourself why you came to that conclusion.

You’re of the habit to immediately get hostile towards different opinions then your own, since this is like the 50th time you’ve replied to my msgs. Maybe you get a boost or something out of it, I don’t know, that for you to know. All I know is have room for disagreements in my life but not for conflict, dishonesty or unnecessary anger.
If that what you want, fine. Don’t dress it up though. I love honest discourse and saying what you mean. “Do your research! Demon Hunters can’t fly!” is not a an honest or serious argument. What you mean is, “I don’t like what your saying.” Then resort to sophism and personal attacks.

It has nothing with whether I like what you’re saying or not, and everything to do with the fact that you tried to argue it from a lore standpoint while obviously not knowing the lore😂.

This is my gripe with Soar as well. It’s so cool flying on my own dragon wings, but the auto dismount is a deal breaker.
I wish ‘landing’ would just keep you hovering over the ground with the Hover animation and ground mount speed. (and ofc you start flying again with Skyward Ascent/space like any other mount)
