Well, I mean they are a chunk higher than the next person. Someone needs to be top, I don’t care if it’s unholy dk as long as it’s close. I do care being the class in dead last with it being our only dps spec. (classes that are lower have alternate specs that are higher)

I just worry they’ll ignore frost again and make fire the only spec that matters much like BFA. It’s just not a spec I have interest in playing as I already made some frost legendaries and picked my covenant for the mirrors. Then again blizzard balances with a sledgehammer so we’ll see how it swings around in a week.
well looking at logs now that the raid been out for a couple days it looks like things are evening out, UH did have almost all the fights topped but now we are seeing shadow come in MM and balance
I mean, that’s not exactly fair to those other classes either though.
If I role dps, but the dps is so bad I can’t do group content…I’m not going to play Tank or Heals, I’m going to re-roll entirely. I wanted to play DPS.
I’m honestly not surprised about where my spec is. Frost Mage was considered “overpowered” in Beta, so Blizzard “balanced” it like they always do: nerfed it straight into the ground.

Havoc is the only spec like that. Warlocks have aff, warriors have arms. Arms isn’t that great either though.
Yeah that’s true. Though they did this to themselves. Why is havocs most viable legendaries at the last bosses of the instance? Why are some classes BIS off the first boss of a regular heroic? If they want people to behave rationally then make the playing field as even as possible before the raid releases so we can compare apples to apples.
Sure some classes are more gear dependent than others so that could help the disparity, but some things can’t change with gear distribution, like an undergeared class outperforming a class who has more gear.
I do agree that we should wait to see the parses even a bit with gear coming out. But every week you wait while any class is performing vastly underneath another is a week they will be considered a token debuff class for the raid.

This seems like very poor justification. Ideally no class should be bad because “they had it good in the past”. All classes should ideally be within a moderate margin of each other in terms of dps.
Somebody will always be top dps sure, the question is by how much is an acceptable margin.
