So you're going to play both games?

Anyone who plays BFA is a traitor and a fortnight baby once classic hits.

Or they are an asmongoloid

I’m mulling it over. I’ve considered biting the bullet and farming tokens to pay my sub but… so lazy. Jury’s still out. I’m not lovin’ the ‘everybody is a combo point template’ gameplay, though, so more likely than not I’ll give up when Classic launches lol.

As for time, I have it in spades. I’m a stay at home mom and school is starting soon.

OMG I hear you on school age kiddies, That 6 hrs a day of silence and tranquility is pure bliss.

I’ve stated the same thing myself in another thread. I even prefer the D3 community over retail WoW

Okay.

BTW Meriweather, I owe you a thanks and a commendation.

In all these threads Iv’e seen you frequently comment in, you’re taking the anti-Refail posts on the chin, to the extent I almost feel guilty for calling it Refail. You show respect for the fact this is the Classic forum and Refail is obviously a joke for many here.

If the forums were full of fair minded and polite people like yourself, it truly would be a place of intellectual discussion about things we ALL feel passionately about. There’s a lot many ( including myself ) can learn from your conduct.

I expect I’ll pop into BFA just to see what WQs are up and to maybe level up my neglected alts. Classic will take up much more of my time, perhaps to the detriment of playing my other MMO.

Honestly, I’m just so tickled to be getting my game back. Anyone who shares that excitement with me is a-okay in my book.

You can quit classic for 3 years and come back right where you were and no new content will have released. Keep that in mind

Why does it matter so much to you? Consider the two versions as two different hobbies. A person can have multiple hobbies; it doesn’t mean they have to have an identical focus on every single one.

At long last, I am only days away from finally getting to experience the loch in Loch Modan in game. I’ve got room in my heart for both the Actual Loch Edition and the Bunch of Big Ol’ Mud Puddles Edition.

This is such a cool thought, too. I love picking up old games. Sometimes I like to start over, sometimes I like to load an old end-game save. It’s really cool that we’ll be able to do that with Classic and not miss out on everything.

Classic enthusiasts aren’t going to care about that. Some of us want to play and master every class at 60 and gear them all out, which will take a VERY long time. Look at all the private servers that are vanilla based. They’ve been around for several years not just a few. That’s a testament to how much better the original was than retail

Edit: See??? Look at that post down below. You simply can’t get that feeling of awe and wonder over the crap pile that is retail anymore unless it’s a brand new expac and that wears off in the first month.

OMG!!!

You didn’t play Vanilla? You’re a post-cataclysm WoWhead?!!

Girl! You are gonna have so much fun.

Okay, so once you get your Loch Modan fix, you have to check out Menethil harbor and look up at the intact dam from below.

Also, you need to experience the majesty of Thousand Needles and Shimmering Flats. /nod

Shimmering Flats was my favorite zone. Sigh. I cannot WAIT, and I’m super excited to finally meet someone who’s going in there for the first time ever. I heard legends of players like you, but I never met one before today.

I envy you. It’s gonna be amazeballs.

Because I will be part of a guild leadership team as I did in Original, thus I am gauging what the general perceptions are along with what people are going to expect when playing two very different games.

What sort of leader would I be if I made decisions about such things in-game without consideration and understanding of what the general Classic player feels like doing.

Oh, yeah, there are so many places I’m finally going to get to see. An Auberdine that’s not in ruins. Stormwind’s Park. But somehow, I keep coming back to the loch – once, a long time ago, I actually asked someone whether there had ever been a loch in Loch Modan. Sad.

I already deleted retail wow (freed 76 GB) and reinstalled classic. Wasn’t even thinking it is possible to play BFA anymore.

There sure was. I have screenshots on an old computer from it. If you’re there at the right time of day, the lighting off the water is truly spectacular. With the improved graphics settings, it will be magical. It was one of the most beautiful landscapes in the game.

It’s also the VERY best place for Dwarves and Gnomes to level 75-100 fishing. You’ll want to do 100-150 in the Wetlands, but get some sagefish and loch frenzy in Loch Modan. The fishing vendor on the dock near Thelsamar has the recipe for cooking it, and she occasionally carries a strong fishing pole in limited quantity. So…find a picturesque spot, and spend an hour leveling fishing and cooking.

I tried to find a way to delete Refail without uninstalling the whole lot including Classic and failed. Yes, I know i’m a pc idiot, but please explain how you did it so I can follow this sterling example of love for Classic.

Just delete the whole folder where you have WOW installed. Then select classic and install it. Should be 3.5 GB or something.

Does this mean the Shadows are mustering in Classic?

I’ll be focusing most of my time on Classic, but will be hopping over to Retail when I feel like doing a bit of gold making or for any other random reason.
