So.. You rerolled.. Why? Post here

I was super excited about the announcement of Classic; like many were. I planned ahead of time everything I was going to do, how I was going to do it. I wanted to try something new. I decided to level up as horde. I never leveled up on horde during vanilla. So I rolled an Undead rogue at the start of launch.

And to be honest, I had a blast. I loved “my rogue.” I kept all my gathering professions (as well as lock picking maxed) up to par with my level. I met some new friends and the community was awesome. I got my rogue to lv 43 on Kromcrush; Deathstroke. But… something was missing.

I had a friend come over and create a character. He made an ally mage and he asked me for some advice. I sat down at the computer and there it was… the realization. I am an Alliance at heart. That’s home for me. Nostalgia hit me so hard; and not to mention that my vanilla main was an ally mage.

I simply couldn’t do it; level as horde. Ally felt right. It was difficult because of the time put into my horde rogue… But I knew it I continued down that path, it wouldn’t be fulfilling. So now I’m a lv 29 mage and having a blast.

So who else after all their hard work and time spent rerolled and why?

I might try Horde in classic. It is hard to look at a mess of a character model for 60 levels though.

Too funny. I rolled an ally mage originally, but couldn’t do it because I’m a horde at heart. Also, I enjoyed the mage but wanted to play rogue (my vanilla character).

I got my mage close to level 40 before rerolling to horde rogue. Now level 46 on this guy and loving it.

It’s funny because we are opposites haha.

Rerolled from 60 warrior to now 30 paladin, warrior isn’t all that fun until AQ40+ gear, while paladin is.

Dont re-roll horde, they have enough players as it is

I rerolled on a new server because wild animals took over my original server and there were so many of them it changed our entire culture. The “free speech” beasts we all have to tolerate.

I am trying to be a Dwarf this time, something I’ve never been able to cap since vanilla.

I’m Horde since vanilla but I’m playing Alliance now. I do have a horde guy for nostalgia but I want to experience it all from a different perspective so it’s not just a rinse/repeat.

Were you playing your rogue alone? If so, that’s one thing. Playing WITH someone is nice.

I may reroll once layering is removed. Even if they offer server xfers I’ll just leave my char there to play later some time.

“i kept getting my feelings hurt so i literally ran away to another server”

imagine being this type of person

and here’s one now lol How did you get out? Anyway, no I didnt get my feelings hurt but I refuse to be surrounded by the lowest common denominator of society. I have standards.

You sound like a very pleasant person, who people enjoy spending time with.

Actually the “free speech beasts” are the ones tolerating you.

Frankly I am, read my posts for evidence and in game every guild in Im eventually asks me to be an officer. Its happened so many times its become funny. But this doesnt matter in the long run and I am not the point.

Why you are defending this blight is incredible when you know exactly what Im talking about. Anyway, my thick skin can take it. Bring it. Seems Im the flame and the moths keep coming.

Rerolled from lock to mage yesterday.

Reason: pets are unreliable in their responsiveness and command. On a PvP server their abilities are our lifeline, if I can’t count on them working when I hit a button then I’m out.

Two things

  1. What is your latency? That could cause problems.

  2. Try the DS/Ruin build. Sac your Succubus for more shadow damage. Then you can be a Lock without worrying about a pet.

Hey mate, I am surprised to hear you went from warrior to paladin. Most of the people I came across telling me warrior is much more enjoyable. I have never play a warrior before though. Do you enjoy your paladin so far?

Wasn’t talking to you but okay.

Yeah the thing with warrior is you’ll miss a lot, until you farm 11% hit, but then you’re wearing bunch of leather, idk, I’ll go back to warrior near AQ40, until then paladin seems like good choice.
Don’t get me wrong, warrior is still strong, just not as fun as it’s going to be with AQ40 gear. Picture full plate with str stam agi crit hit and defense rating, good enough to tank dungs in fury.

So your friend made an ally mage and you decided to copy him:

I don’t have the history with the game that you do, I didn’t start playing until Legion, but I feel the same way. I have a couple alliance chars on Blaumeux that I might never touch. Can’t give just one reason why, but Horde just feels right.

I went hunter to try something new and because a friend in the group was trying to claim mage. I stuck it out till 28 and even though being fast and killing things fast and safe with a pet was fun at first, it didn’t feel challenging enough.

I rerolled mage and haven’t looked back. Their risk/reward is so high and you can really pull off some awesome control plays with sheep and nova. Just so fun to me.
