So you can get heritage armor from AR deathknights?

Even though they start at a higher level?

I need to start a new character to get that vulpera heritage armor, debating between warrior or frost DK now if they’re able to unlock it…

I believe a blue said that is incorrect and that it was an error.

Nevermind I read it again and it looks like you can.

This is what the page says:

All new Death Knight characters will receive the iconic Archerus Deathcharger class mount after completing the introductory questline, with Allied Race Death Knights also receiving their racial mount (pandaren racial mounts will still need to be purchased from a vendor). Heritage Armor for Allied Races characters can be obtained by leveling to 110.

Correction: We deleted a typo that incorrectly stated that pandaren can receive Heritage Armor by leveling to 110.

Their text is ambiguous.

Note for DK specific things they say “Death Knight” but for the heritage armor it just says Allied Races need to level to 110. Doesn’t say Allied Race Death Knights specifically, which I think is intentional.

Yea, when are gaming companies going to learn to be clear in their messages? Probably never.

More importantly: Who cares?
You’ll wear the heritage armor a couple of times then remove it forever because everyone is wearing the same.
Pick a class that you find interesting, not the one that allows you to rush a cosmetic (which you’ll eventually get anyway).

I don’t know, the Dwarf and Dark Iron Dwarf heritage armor is pretty rad and I use pieces of it across my Monk and Shaman respectively.

You may not use it as a full set but still sprinkle in individual pieces. Any blood elves I have are probably using the chest armor because it’s 3D, goes over armor, and looks awesome. I get a lot of mileage out of the dwarf belt too.

I’m race changing my 120 shaman to a vulpera, so I need to unlock the armor on another character for her to use it.

And, TBH, I’m not interested in the entire heritage armor set, but I really want that backpack full of totems and scavenged junk for the shaman.

Allied race death knights start at level 20 I’ve heard. So if you’re just going for heritage it’s exactly the same. I’d play the class you enjoy more.

Vulpera get a backpack with their heritage armor. It’s worth it just for that.

Also, is it confirmed new DKs still start at a higher level? Aren’t they getting a new leveling zone? Or is that not until Shadowlands?

In shadowlands it won’t matter because every class will start at level 1.

And also it will take a dramatically reduced amount of time to reach the level cap because you will only need to choose a single expansion zone set to level through to reach 50, then shadowlands content to 60.

So i’m just waiting until shadowlands to try and get any more heritage armor.

Speaking of Heritage armor. I’m working on the lightforged one now. Do you guys know if and when I unlock it, can all my other characters use it?

still using blood elf armor on my demon hunter. Well, parts of it, shoulders and gloves are quite amazing.

My Gnome Warlock is still wearing it and I don’t plan to change it anytime soon. I even found the perfect staff to match it. Not all of us get it and abandon it that quickly.

All of your other lightforged characters, yes.

Some of them are too sweet to swap out. Tauren, HM, both Dwarves pop to mind.

Oh and the Zandalari.

All of your lightforge guys, yes, but the other races no.

dang thats unforch

That is the only drawback, but it does make sense.

I suppose they could have extended it to the core race.
