So, with the removal of Titanforge in 8.3

Are we going to get gear with baseline sockets and socket bonuses back? Just like how it was from TBC to MoP?

Yes please. I’m over getting sockets with RNG, such a stupid idea

No RNG Sockets. :x:

No RNG Item level. :white_check_mark:

And no more RNG Effects. (They’re experimenting.)

We’re slowly making our way back to exciting and worthwhile gear you can reasonably farm and customize.

Another thing that should come back is Reforging. Honestly, sick of RNG of the gear that drops with worse stats, then them being not classed as Upgrades because they don’t help out your class/spec in anyway.

I can honestly say I did not appreciate Reforging enough. I didn’t miss it when it was removed, but I sure do miss it nowadays. I’d definitely like to see it come back, along with actual sockets and their bonuses.

Actaully I wonder if sockets will continue to exist in future gear. Otherwise there be no point keeping jewel crafting.

This would be so cool, esp. for my JC’ers.

they said they were going to replace it with something a little more sinister.

that is, it won’t be called “titanforging” it will be called “corrupted” or “corrupting”

It will be the exact same thing, just with an old god theme to it.

At the very most, they might change it so each ilvl brack can have its own “titanforging” so technically the only way to get the strongest item in the game would be for a mythic raid item to “titanforge” in season 4, instead of pretty much any item to randomly jackpot titanforge into an ilvl capped drop.

So we are not losing titanforging and everyone celebrate and high-fiving needs to just keep their feet on the ground here.

I bet it will be Voidforged same as Titanforged, but with some void theme graphic. I am just thinking Blizzard will go down the path of least effort.

How does the statement "we are changing Titan forge to be more corrupt and sinister " considered as removal ??

You guys are asking for a lot of disappointment  .

no, we’re getting something called “corrupted titanforging” instead. instead of an item level increase over warforging, it’s going to be some lovecraftian status and proc effects due to being “corrupted”. there will probably be tentacles involved, because blizzard can’t keep their fetishes out of the game.

i am so freaking sick of c’thulian BS in the game. lovecraft is dumb, old gods are dumb, n-dimensional elder beings beyond our comprehension are dumb. i hate hate hate the whole tentacles and disembodied eyeballs motiff so much it drives me freaking nuts. i’m sick of it and i can’t wait for this expansion to be over.

Titanforging isn’t going away. It’s just changing.

It’s amazing how many people chose to hear what they wanted to hear from that announcement.

Next up - Blizzard: “We’re removing some of the barriers preventing players from getting into the action quickly with Looking for Raid.”

Forums: “They said they’re removing Looking for Raid, guys! We did it!”

They are replacing titanforging with a system that:

“Works to preserve the value of item level, and the correlation between doing difficult content, and getting the best rewards”

Sounds like RIP McTurboforging to me.

Thank god.

i didn’t see that anywhere in the notes. got any more specifics?

We don’t know anything.

For all we know the gear is cursed and has to be cleansed before it reaches full power.

Reforging from what i remembered is what you did to get 100% hit chance then stack your best stat and call it a day.

I think they used changed not removed. corrupted. so maybe that means you have to upgrade it/ augment it using Titan facilities with mats obtained via raids etc. similar to the crafted BFA gear.

Regorging smoothed the difference between an item with good stats and an item with bad stats.

Essentially if you got a super high ilvl piece with the “wrong” stats, you could reforge some of it to your best stat.

Something that would have been an unequippable downgrade despite having a higher ilvl was thus usable.

You also used it to cap hit.

Just wait until we find out what ‘corrupted’ means… the base item of 440 may forge into a higher ilv, but since its corrupted, it may go much lower level! or… even break completely and be unuseable! fun :joy::rofl::joy:
