So will WoW trial still end at level 20?

ATM you can play WoW for free until level 20… with the level squish happening with this change to 10 or remain at level 20?

Well with the new leveling system if you’re currently level 20 you get bumped down to level 10. So I’m assuming the new trial will be to level 10.

Wouldn’t that mean they could travel to all the zones on Azeroth with Chromie Time on?

I have no clue how any of that is going to work. I imagine the new trial account with just have access to exiles reach but I could be wrong

Honestly if Blizzard was smart they’d just let trials do all the content up until whenever the newest expansion starts.

Or perhaps allow them to do Eastern Kingdoms/Kalimdor content only?

I think that Blizzard needs to revamp the free trial version. I have been playing the Final Fantasy XIV free trial and there is over a 100 hours plus of content to do for free; where as, WoW doesn’t even give you the chance to see how the leveling experience is.

I think Blizzard should raise the free version to level 40 or 45 so new players can experience at least the end game of WoD or Legion before buying into BFA and Shadowlands.

I would assume that it would be scaled down like with the other character levels. Level 20 would be 10.

yeah but you wouldnt be able to unlock it. youd finish tiragarde sound and get stuck without paying

Apparently Its been said it will stay at 20, although it has not been confirmed. I read that on Icy Veins on Thursday

You can’t use Chromie Time if you don’t have a level 50 character. Also players who don’t have a level 50 character are funneled into BfA their first playthrough. I have to assume that will apply to trial accounts as well, so I don’t think you will be able to pick up the intro quest for expansions like Legion, WoD or MoP. You should be able to travel to any zone on Eastern Kingdoms or Kalimdor and be fine though, since the world still scales down to level 10 (except the old 80-85 Cataclysm zones).

Personally I think level 15 or 20 is a good stopping point for a trial character. You can get to level 10 in less than 1 hour with the new leveling experience. That’s just not enough playing time to get a feel for your character. Granted it will take a little longer for a new player but it’s still not much time.
