Most specs in the game, including all 3 lock ones, blow atm.
New expansion will be as dead as this one if they don’t revert to when specs were fun.

Demo is the only warlock spec remotely close to a good design. Screw meta tbh, going back is just going to make us substandard as they iron out the bullcrap. Or they could tweak a few minor details like an interrupt baseline, reducing ramp up for aoe, retooling DeCon so its not the only important part of gameplay, fixing the feelsbad of being talentlocked into felguard, and probably some small shiz i aint thinking of.

I think they should do away with us being imp mothers at least. Make hand of gul’dan apply Doom on all targets. So instead of having hand of gul’dan summon imp’s it can summon a single more powerful minion depending the amount of shards you spend 3-5. Remove netherportal and add Grimoire of Supremacy which will replace your main minions with more powerful minions for example…Felguard will become a Fel Lord with one more added ability Fel spire(interrupts targets as well) etc etc. Remove Soul Conduit and replace it with Commander of minions which allows you to maintain two main minions at once! fel hunter with felguard or any other combo you would want(both of these talents can allow the implementation of an interrupt without gimping our dps).

No, meta can stay gone. Improve on the demo design we have now and everything will be good.

The baseline classes for Shadowlands are the same as BFA. Don’t get your hopes up.

Holinka said for the most part there will not be sweeping class changes, mostly just adding things, but they don’t want people relearning a spec if not necessary.

didnt catch that, will have to go back and watch some VODs whenever theyre up. If true it’s still hard to judge the degree to which he means that but we’ll see. lookin forward to testing in a few months
Not gonna lie, thats a little disheartening.
I mean i enjoy Demo spec atm and we need only minor love but franky Destro AND Aff should be relearning their spec in Shadowlands

You know I was thinking the same exact thing but then one thing that was mentioned was talents becoming baseline. If this is the case then that leaves room for interesting talents to be added affecting the specs. So overall I am reserving judgement till alpha/beta.

Its still early to judge and i do withhold judgement.
Still… Cant deny that little sigh and heart drop.
We’re going to need tweaking regardless, and that goes for all specs in game. We’re currently balanced around azerite traits that are going to be gone in about a year, so they’ll need to do something about that.
Not to mention the return of the Curse of Doom and Demonic Circle baseline robs us of talent slots, so.
they did say they are revamping specs to make the class feel more unique than other classes rather than having specs feel more unique from one another within the same class.
Good design but… not competative in Mythic raid prog. to easy to counter in pvp. lacks kick and is underwhelming(mind you alot of specs are atm) atm in mythic plus

It’s decently competitive* in Mythic Raids AND Mythic+ in terms of raw damage, but it’s two handicaps are:
- It’s mobility sucks.
- No baseline kick.
If they can fix those two issues, Demo is a perfectly fine PvE spec. Will probably never be fixed for PvP, but PvP is a dumpster fire and realistically anyone who still cares about PvP should have abandoned WoW for a game that cares about it long ago.
*(It’s no Rogue/DH or Shadow Priest, but if that’s your metric for being “competitive”, you’re expecting far too much)

Fully agreed. Id also add that we should ideally tweak DeCon down a little so we dont have quite so much of our dps loxked away in the Tyrant. Its better than Destro but not ideal.
No no you are missing the point it doesn’t rob you of talent slots it ADDS options for talents. With them being removed and added baseline, talents aren’t going anywhere so something has to take their place.
