Seeing that Miro has bought out blizzard. Why not give WoW A.I. world bosses and/or last/side Boss in raids. We all know that A.I. bosses will be hard or unbeatable for most A.I. that are out there like the chess one but can always scale down to be beatable though not by all. That is what true gamers want something hard or impossible to down. A challenge to defeat not same old crap knowing what going to happen next and counter it before it happens. A.I. will be the future of gaming soon I bet on that. We all know Microsoft has invested a lot already in to A.I. so why not test A.I. out on the number one MMO game WoW. Would be a good test subject on what A.I. could or would do in a real world scenario to a point. Give boss a unlimited kind of different spells but only can pick a certain amount of spell when combat is started. With one ace in the hole spell. So the A.I. is limited to game mechanics same as player are in the mechanics. So you have to adapt each time you go into combat. It would be a challenge for the true gamers and when downed get amazing gear/items close to godly stats/spells/or etc. Please go back to Game Play Matters as your motto. For the love of the gamers not for the cry baby that don’t understand what a gamer is.
Wouldn’t the A.I. just focus down healers every pull?
Idk but it sounds kinda interesting
Think of the TOC PvP fight but the enemies were “smart” and not scripted. That would be sick
Yeah but has to follow game mechanics like I stated. We all know threat is part of them. Just like taunt should work in pvp making the player that gets taunted loses target or cant attack the target he was on for like 4 seconds. Never understood why taunt wasn’t a useable skill for pvp.
Haha yeah, boss pumps every ability into healers right from the jump. Raid wipe 10 seconds later. Every time. DBM completely useless…
Be careful what you wish for. We want our bosses stupid and predictable.
your a gamer thank you
Taunt worked well in warhammer online. It gave the taunted target a 30% damage debuff unless he targeted the taunter for the duration. Surprised it was never copied by Blizzard as they seem to copy plenty of other things from other MMOs.
Like a person that enjoys easy games with easy loot. Not a gamer that wants something more and challenging and achieve that most just cant comprehend from a game. Game play matters to a gamer not a person who enjoys easy games. RPGMMO are not suppose to be easy with easy gear. They are time consuming and challenging to get the hero type status just like life you want to pursue. Not handed to everyone if you want it handed to you easy. RPGMMO are not the game for you to play a game like diablo is more for you.
This is hilarious coming from someone playing Classic WoW.
Dude,
We’re all scrubs down here.
I would like to see bosses without predictable mechanics or just a variation of some. It gets boring after the 50th clear.
We don’t need AI to have “smarter” bosses that dynamically make decisions based on the raid state. They could take the idea of Jaina, who as a raid boss would Ice Block a raid’s bloodlust, and add all sorts of state based triggers to bosses that would make them much more dynamic and challenging.
To have ML/AI framework where the encounter learned and optimized itself around beating players would lead to impossible fights. Every mythic retail fight is so closely scripted because it has to be. Even if the bosses didn’t have the option of ignoring aggro tables, and had to use melee swings on, and target, the highest threat person, just their abilities can cause impossible overlaps.
And let’s say everyone playing this game was in NA and everyone was spaced the average distance from their server’s physical location, you’re talking about 10ms latency if we get around all hardware constraints (speed of light) vs some neural network which, unless artificially throttled, would make 100s of decisions every 10ms (most of these would be small position tweaks, or choosing to do nothing new, but the potential for changing the current course of action exists at every decision point), and all those decisions would be based on perfect contextual knowledge of the current cooldown status, position, secondary resource levels, hit points, etc. of the entire raid it was trying to wipe.
And then 10ms later you see it doing all those things, and your meat computer takes 0.5 to react and push and button, and 10ms back to the server, where a thousand things have already happened.
not if they have obligation to obey threat tables…
