So, why exactly are we getting Fresh hardcore servers?

Incredibly wrong take. HC is not vanilla wow at all. Its a game mode based on vanilla wow. Current vanilla wow enjoyers dont want HC they just want a fresh.

I think overall this is fine. Any decent ecosystem will have people who are able to make their living off of it. And in turn, they provide services and entertainment for the players and whatnot.

However, this should have little impact of the vision and actions of the dev team. They are driving the ship and should always be in charge to build the best game they can imagine.

When all the non-technical and non-design talking starts to take over, pressure from internal and external sources, and no clear leadership - that’s when we get crazy ideas like releasing a third hardcore server when 95% of people on current ones are asking for consolidation of current ones.

My generally philosophy is that - if I can’t implement something myself, then I likely don’t really understand it.

There’s no point to a fresh HC unless they’re rollilng out a SSF one with extra challenges like nudist/no talents – the way it should have been in the first place.

People who are not playing sod, are not and will never “go to sod” to raid. There is a very obvious reason for that. Sod is extremely polarizing in that you either love it (youre a freak) or hate it (youre a human being)

SOD is not an option for a very large majority of players, as statistics show

You and I are very well aware that if they launched a regular fresh alongside HC, SOD population would fall down the pit

There will also be no “booming population” from a hardcore server by itself. Remember you can transfer your dead toon to era if you die - imagine how many players would NOT play hc in a scenario where your toon cannot xfer. If they launched a fresh right next to it and if you die you can transfer to the fresh, the following will happen:

  1. 90% of the playerbase logs in
  2. target level 1 boar/wolf
  3. attack monster stop attacking
  4. die
  5. xfer to fresh

Fresh servers bring in new people.

Nothing better then the experience of jumping in with thousands of others over the start (for me at least). Established servers are boring to me and probably thousands of other players.

I for one would play it if they were fresh with friends that would do the same, but we wouldn’t jump on the servers already there, well just stick to retail.

No ones playing sod atleast not on my server

Why do you need fresh hardcore realms? I don’t understand why that would be when most people die at some point.

There’s not much point outside of an economic reset and an official “let’s all try again together” – which is enough, imo. But outside of that, they could be adding server specific rules, like self found or adding challenges like nudist, or no talents used, etc. Who knows.

I mean they just announced it. Im not against it. Ill be on the regular fresh realm.

ya I don’t think anyone in the HC community can understand why they’re releasing a fresh HC server. Lots of talk about people not wanting this, so Blizzard did it anyways.

Imagine they sent HC into TBC and you die to the fel reaver 5 mins in

Keep imagining - won’t happen. Only the PvP and the PvE server will progress, not the HC one.

Let’s be honest they’ll play for like a week or two at most since most of them are just gonna get mob tagged to max level in the span of like a day and then whine and moan about the content being too easy and boring.

Every diablo season, we get hc seasonal servers too. This isn’t some groundbreaking thing. It’s a gaming standard.

lol are you high? I know it won’t happen. It was a joke my guy. Go outside.

Oh, so many misunderstood or did not hear this tidbit. I thought you were one among many

More communities need a chance to form. Your current community is not the only one that exists, nor should ever exist.

Hardcore fresh is launching at the same time to try and entice players into playing it. Most people will lose their crap WHEN they die. Releasing fresh HC alongside fresh allows people to give it a try and then when they inevitably die, they can transfer to a non-HC without skipping a beat.
