So Why Don't We Have Ogres?

The onky thing i can think of is caz there a bit to big and would need alot of twiking so transmogs work on them

But if horde get a big class give allience vurkul. Win/win

Same here. Wanna go okk people in the dooker, lol

Nage for allience?

Lol!! No. Horde all the way. Allience can ger vurkul

So, what you’re saying is that Saberon have a chance.

Cuz players have access to transmog and I don’t think Blizz wants to just see a bunch of spicy mogged ogres

Yes Naga and murlocs from Azmerloth please!!

Oh, that race that Horde and Alliance have been killing for 18 years. I’m sure they’re lining up to be our friends.

Seeing how there is no female ogres even in WoD.

It’s because Blizzard can’t decide how they want to portray the females.

Considering how hard it was to get the female Worgen face changed…

I don’t think we’ll ever get Ogres because of the lack of female model.

Best we can hope for is Mok’nathal.

Least they finally fixed the face!.. Didn’t fix the parasitic wig of a hairstyle tho.

No blizzard, wolves do not have manes.

I never get this argument cause nothing had a female model before it was added. Female trolls, tauren, dwarves, draenei, pandaren etc etc the list goes on. And its not like they’d just use the NPC models for playable ogres

Cute is just more popular than big and ugly.

racial ability: “squeeze through” (shrinks hit box for purposes of crossing through doorways and small spaces) ?

Well, consider this.

Only a vast minority play the ugly races. Is it really worth Blizzards time to do all that when only a small % would play it?

The main reason is their penchant for only giving NPC races male models came back to bite them and they hit a brick wall designing a female ogre model that people would want to play, so they scrapped their plans to add ogres to the Horde back in Cataclysm and settled on goblins, a race that already had both male and female models and would have considerably less trouble going through doorways.

The other reason is likely that ogres, much like high elves as part of the Alliance, wouldn’t really contribute anything to the Horde that it was lacking before, and the devs seem to only want to add races that have a certain hook. The ogres’ hook is that they’re either lumbering, club-swinging barbarians or magic-wielders whose intelligence has been heightened by arcane exposure, which are more or less already covered by orcs, blood elves, and goblins.

High Elves would contribute to the Alliance though. They’ve been our #1 Allied Race, that we cannot play as currently, in practically every expansion. Being exiles of their own home, despite doing everything they thought right and true to their culture, is a pretty fascinating concept. Helps that they’re pretty and would be easy to implement.

Ogres would take a TON of work and since they’re ugly and… dumb, they wouldn’t be all that popular.

Doesn’t help that despite Ogres being in the Horde, they’re always shown as the dumb hard labor, don’t really have a strong faction identity within the Horde, and aren’t ever given important story roles.

I mean they added the Nightborne whos entire story and niche is almost 1:1 Blood Elf so I dunno about that :stuck_out_tongue: A lot of the allied races are “covered” by existing races (a lot are just [Existing Race But MORE] like the mechagnomes or LFD) so I don’t really see Ogres stepping on orcs toes or anything.
