So why can't I have pre nerf pets?

Which was Practically Perfect In Every—oh wait that was Mary Poppins.

Well, Blizzard had to pick something, and whatever its warts, 1.12 had the most time, feedback, consideration (across the board) of the 1.x patches.

Ooh I know! Let’s start arguing about how the pre-TBC patch with new class mechanics and talents was technically part of vanilla. I sure would like to have my felguard in Classic, yes siree.

Where do you get the notion that a 1.12 client cannot be changed to make for a better experience, especially when they’ve already done it multiple times.

You act as if they can only go forwards and backwards.

You’re the one screaming for a crutch to help you in PvP, lmao.

where did i say that?

Me, I liked my wolf, but the regular wolf with the scowl and the scritchy-scratchy animation, not the noble, majestic, expressionless, just-standing-there-doing-nothing one that most of the special wolves were.

“so why can’t I have pre nerf pets?”

Erm. Define “Improving”. TBC was an “Improvement”. LFD was an “Improvement”.

The entire purpose of Vanilla is to roll back all the “improvements” and go back to a consistent game. Deciding to pick and choose from different parts of Vanilla would require balancing, which means “improving” the game in a direction that Vanilla didn’t go.

That’s why they’re using a consistent 1.12 platform.

See back in vanilla, there was no easy option. No artificially inflating difficulty for the exact same cosmetics and rewards. Thats one main differentiation between todays everyone gets a trophy for participation vs having to earn rewards.

So yeah, you can easily take off gear, reduce raid numbers or any other handicap but vanilla wow was never about that, being able to do content at its intended difficulty level was the reward, was the rite of passage. Having it available in late game nerfed state “catch up” status diminishes it.

So are you one of those Private Server Bro-Boys, or did you walk away from Retail for 13 years and freeze yourself until Classic was announced?

Because you’re basically saying that only people who refuse to play WoW are allowed to comment on WoW. Which is as insane as saying that level 10-20 characters shouldn’t be allowed to comment on the game because they have no stake in it since they aren’t subbed.

Both are inaccurate, but only one is being said in earnest.
