So whose the new Warchief? Who leads the Forsaken?

I curious who leads the Forsaken now?

Whose the WarChief?

They said no change to the Factions and no peace in the future, so this means Calia Menethil can’t become the new leader of the Forsaken, even though she is undead, and they are actually her people. Also her lieutenant Derek Proudmoore is still very much apart of Jainia’s Family. Which means, the two most likely leaders of the Forsaken, are too close to the alliance to become their leader.

For Warchief, Baine and Anduin’s friendship basically makes it impossible for him to become Warchief, as he and Anduin would build up the ground work for a lasting peace.

Whose left? Thrall, he’s retired, and he also is tired of war, he would look for a lasting peace.

This leaves the Trade Prince Gallywix (too greedy and evil to be trusted)

Lor’themar Theron (who would be cautious and a good WarChief, but would Orcs accept a Blood Elf?)

Ji Firepaw (ignored since MoP)

First Arcanist Thalyssra (Too new and untrusted)

Mayla Highmountain (too naive).

… other Allied Races are too meaningless besides the Zandalari.

Which leaves Talanji as the best actual candidate for WarChief and well what is her reaction to what happened at the end of the War campaign? Does she care enough about the Horde to Move her Capital to Ogrimar? She has the Power, but does she have the will to be Warchief.

What do you think, who do you think Blizzard will choose, who would you love to see?

It’s all answered in 8.3 so spoilers here. There are changes, I think they just meant no changes between the Alliance and Horde division.

Summary

The Horde is now led by a council and the Warchief position has been eliminated. All of the leaders have equal standing and say in matters. Similar to the dwarf council ruling Ironforge. Thrall is part of it as well and Rokhan is now the official leader and representative of the Darkspear.

Lilian Voss is representing them now, but she’s not taking over as leader permanently. Calia’s likely being built up to that role in the future.

Based on how everything ended in 8.2, it looks like there isn’t a new Warchief.
It’s just a council of the individual faction leaders.

As for who would lead the Forsaken? My bet would be Lilian Voss having to step up in some manner — either as a representative to the council while the Forsaken figure their stuff out or as both representative AND the actual faction leader of the Forsaken.

Gallywix is potentially off with Sylvanas, so I think the Goblins may also need a new faction lead.

Now, as for the FAR future…when the Horde possibly does implement the Warchief again…
Well I guess it depends on who is still around at that point.
I don’t see them undoing their council idea the first time the Alliance and Horde start fighting again.
However, as the war drags on, esp. if it seems like some form of central leadership is needed (mayhaps initially ONLY in a military role…before that expands)…then a warchief could come back.
1.) Baine (the friendship with Anduin won’t matter, he’s still highly respected in the Horde)
2.) Lor’themar Theron (if they accepted Sylvanas and the Forsaken, they would accept a Blood Elf)
3.) The Mag’har or normal Orc faction leads (I forgot their names)

Gallywix is not part of the horde anymore. He disappear along with sylvanas. It’s unknown if he actually join sylvanas or not.

Right now the forsaken seem like they’ll no longer be death dead exclusive. There’ll be light dead by calia. And possibly life dead by the nelf.

Sylvanas Windrunner is the only one leading the Forsaken.
Anyone claiming that position will be killed asap.

BTW, Derek is a puppet of the Dark Lady.
