Who created the lich helm? The cinematic made it sound like its ancient because it was the key to the shadowlands. I thought demons created it? Did they create it before demons even existed ? What held the shadowlands apart prior to it’s existence ?
Some Graphic designer
Kil’jaeden created it in the Shadowlands using the Forge of Damnation.
But shadowlands was there before kiljaeden even existed so what held it before??
It was the same blacksmith that we work with to make our new legendaries, not Kil’jaeden. Demons had no part in any of that anymore, they just took random crap from his workshop.
Nah. I don’t think they will retcon it.
They will just have Kil’jaeden doing what we will do: craft legendaries on the Forge with the blacksmith’s help.
They were willing to establish that nothing in Chronicle is necessarily canon because it’s written by the Titans and only reflects their point of view. Nothing is out of bounds.
So before there was a wall between our realm and the shadowlands, when Kil’jaeden and the demons created the Lich King/ Lich King’s Armor they essentially cut a hole in the wall and put a door there so that Nerzul could channel the massive necormantic powers of the shadowlands.
Sylvanas breaking the helm kicked the door down essentially.
The connection hadn’t always been there but when the legion created the LK it irreversibly changed the nature of connection between the two realms
That seems like the most likely theory imo anyways. We’ll learn more in legion as they said we’ll specifically learn more about frostmourne and helm of domination
That doesn’t mean Chronicle lies. It just means it doesn’t know everything.
Technically, demons are ancient, too. They predate the corruption of sargeras.
Oh wait. It might not be true. Does sargeras count as view of the titan? If not then that whole thing is not exactly true. Oh, welp.
Edit: nathrezim also said to good smith. Wait is that from the chronicle. Oh, no. Nevermind, I guess. Nothing is real. Everything is permit.
The Helm of Domination (also referred to as the helm of the Lich King or Lich King’s crown) was crafted by demons, both to hold the spirit of Ner’zhul and grant him his Lich King powers. …
The Plate of the Damned is massive in form and covered with layers of arcane etchings, yet this imposing armor rests lightly upon the wearer. … Along with the Helm, the armor was bonded to Ner’zhul’s spirit and locked within the Frozen Throne. …
It could’ve been the Jailers helm, and Sargeras could’ve taken it when he hatched the LK plot with Kiljaeden. That’d be pretty boss if Sargeras is like yea dude I’ll free you and then didn’t, and the Jailer’s been stewing about for a way to escape when Sylvanas comes barreling in LOL
Hmm This makes sense to me and probably the best possible theory that fits.
Bob from shadowlands, maker of helms.
Demons created it at the Forge of Domination within the Shadowlands.
Blizzard kinda forgot how the helm was made
I don’t see what the big deal is about making a new one and closing the door. Just go to Home Depot and do it yourself. Like they say, more saving, more doing.
The Plate of the Damned is massive in form and covered with layers of arcane etchings, yet this imposing armor rests lightly upon the wearer. It was crafted by demons, along with the [Helm of Domination], and given to [Ner’zhul] to make him nearly invulnerable. Along with the Helm, the armor was bonded to Ner’zhul’s spirit and locked within the [Frozen Throne]. It is currently unknown where the Plate of the Damned is since its former wearer, [Arthas Menethil], is dead.
Arthas did not appear to use the armor in Northrend, instead using what looked like death knight armor as the Lich King.
What a convoluted way for them to admit that they can’t stick to their own official lore books.
