Sylvanas is kept as the Warchief and Saurfang is killed off. 1/2 the Horde and probably most of the Alliance is upset.
Sylvanas is "redeemed". 1/2 the Horde is ok, the other half is upset at the poor writing. Probably most of the Alliance is upset by the poor writing.
The factions split into 2 Horde -1 Alliance. The Alliance/Horde vs Scourge 2.0 without the ability to kill the Lich Queen. Alliance/Horde are upset they can kill greater evils (Arthas/Lich King) but not Sylvanas.
The factions split NE/Alliance/Horde/Scourge 2.0. Its 3 factions vs Scourge 2.0 Alliance/Horde are upset they can kill greater evils (Arthas/Lich King) but not Sylvanas.
Factions completely dissolved and now are based around character race. PvP players are upset, everyone else rejoices.
Can you see a better way out for Blizz?

I say this one and the numbers could be off. probably around 75% horde. Based on other web sights I visit. tons of pro Sylvanas . Not a whole lot like Saurpuss as they call him.
Story-wise Sylvanas being redeemed is the worst possible outcome by far.
Gameplay-wise the faction split is the worst by far.
Any ending where Sylvanas goes unpunished is bad.

While I dont disagree on a council - your members are VERY FOrsaken and Blood Elf heavy.
I would say no more than 1 per race.
Forsaken - Sylvanas or Nathanos (Although I would prefer anyone over those 2)
Blood Elf - Lor’themar
Nightborne - Thalyssra
Tauren - Baine
Darkspear - Rok'han
Zandalri - Talanji
HM Tauren - Mayla
Orc - Saurfang/Etrigg?
Mag'Har - ?
Sylvanas dies and Spirit-Vol'jin declares Talanji the new warchief.

From my annecdotal evidence is mainly Blood Elf and Forsaken players who are Sylvanas fanbois. So if that is 100% they equal about 22.6% of the US playerbase

Well let's say that if we get a cheesy, dumb, and insulting redemption arc for Sylvanas then I'm out, the ones that stay can enjoy World of Sylvanascraft.
I dont really care if the Alliance is upset over the Horde warchief.
I except bare minimum she won't be warchief after this expansion is over. They will either elevate her to some Illidan level "follow me if you want to live" leader against the void or she will be off doing something in back story for a while until she re-emerges for some dramatic / well time pivotal event.
Regardless of her fan boys and their hopes for little Ms. Murdergloves to keep in charge I am pretty it will either be with a choice by her or a choice by a conflict with existing Alliance / Horde leaders. I don't think they will kill her off. Not yet. They are building her up for something else and it smells of a "greater purpose" story arc.

You know they didn't need any of this horde vs alliance to make bfa work.
Lets remove every thing about Sylvanas drama and you would still have an expansion.
We could still make IE and warfronts work.
We could still makes uldir and the other two raids works.
You could just make an expansion of the factions searching for allies to help them restore Azeroth and you are done

I think you underestimate how many people will be upset if Sylvanas is killed off. I'm not saying she should remain in charge of the Horde, but she is too popular to do dispose of if you want a happy player base, you see a lot of Sylv hate in the forum community but it's a very vocal minority.
I, and many horde players have been saying that it should be a council of the races for YEARS, the role of Warchief was always originally intended to be temporary (lore wise) and while the role of Warchief can still exist since we're never not at war with something, it shouldn't be the governing position anymore.
Each race should have 1 representative (the leader of the race)

I would quit if Baine became warchief. Guy is a wet sandwich.
Sylvanas is defeated or driven off and Anduin is standing beside Saurfang as he raises his axe in the air and screams "Azeroth is freeeee!"

I think you under estimate the number of people who truly hate the fact that the writers have used her to destroy the Horde they joined. Horde =/= Sith in SWTOR - they never have. Making that change has upset a LOT of the playerbase. Notice how all the cinematics are FOR Saurfang and against Sylvanas?
The reason I made this post is to point out this issue is so divisive, Blizzard loses whichever way they go.

Try seeing outside of you own little view.
Sylvanas literally genocided one of our most loved races. She has been laughing in our faces since Cataclysm.
No one on Alliance side has come close to doing what she does, and she always does it without any consequences.
Just imagine how bad it would feel as an Alliance player if she goes completely unpunished and nothing happens to her. We're already being treated as a second fiddle faction who's only here to further the Horde story, so it can actually happen.
But you won't. Because you don't care about how other players might feel, only you.
