So where is Tirion?

Well they kind of have to, they’re the ones that ferry souls and I assume that’s every soul to the arbiter. Could be wild goods just instantly go to Ardenweald though without being judged, honestly the fact blizz have not given us any specifics besides “it happened in legion” is rather annoying.

Warbrave Oro can be found in Bastion as well as Amber Kiernan can be found in Maldraxxus. Both of these characters died in Legion after Broken Shore.
Anyone that died in Broken Shore should have made it to the Shadowlands.
The only reasonable explanation for Variann to not be in shadowlands is that some fel-whatever ruined his soul.

Which would really be a slap in the face to us. There’s a full questline working of the player working with Vol’Jin’s soul and in the Afterlives they teased a potential return of Garrosh.
So yes I would like to see Variann in the Shadowlands.
Variann and Tirion should make a return.

Remind me again who got slapped and who is owed.

Or he’s in another afterlife.

Tirion didn’t die immediately during the Broken Shore scenario, he held on until the beginning of the paladin order hall campaign. Gul’dan wasn’t present when he finally passed on.

It’s entirely possible that he’s with the Light, whatever that means, but what happened in the death knight order hall campaign was probably a mix of Tirion’s importance in combination with Light’s Hope. Light’s Hope is special due to the remains of more than a thousand heroes buried in the sacred ground below the chapel, though I’m sure blasphemy of attempting to raise Tirion was what set the Light off. That incident wasn’t the first time Light reacted to undead invaders at Light’s Hope by blasting them to pieces; Darion himself set it off when he first died, and as a result won victory for the Argent Dawn against Kel’Thuzad with his sacrifice. The sight of the Light obliterating the Scourge at Light’s Hope was literally the last thing he saw as a living person. The entire finale of the death knight campaign is custom tailored by Bolvar to be as traumatic as possible for Darion; both had to have known that the chance of successfully raising Tirion was slim to none.

Tirion was a traitor and villain so he probably ended up in Revendreth to be scooped by Denathrius OR went straight into the Maw.

Very likely there’s an Afterlife in which the Dead can just REST and those who have given everything, like Tiron has, deserves to finally rest.

If Varian’s soul wasn’t destroyed by Guldan I assume he’d be sent to Maldraxxus. Genuinely can’t imagine he’d go anywhere else, even with the Goldrinn connection. But I also wouldn’t mind seeing him reunited with Tiffin so she can have some actual character development beyond “got hit with pebble and died” lol

If the Arbiter broke before Varian died, then there is no way that Warbrave Oro should be in Bastion since he died AFTER Varian. Yet he is, so clearly the Arbiter broke AFTER the intro to Highmountain which happens AFTER the broken shore intro experience.

What part of that do you not understand?

I love how Dreadmoores hatred towards Varian and his lust to see him in the maw makes him blind to these facts. They will probably scream “fake news” or “blizzard retcon” as a response.

I haven’t even thought of him with Tiffin, that would be awesome.
I mostly want Variann to make a heart-touching speech of approval to the Anduin-Genn relationship. The connection there between Anduin being like the son Genn lost and Genn being like to father that Anduin lost is really unsung.
And for all the times Anduin is compared to his father as a king, would really be a nice touch to hear Variann’s take on it.

What do people no understand about “infinite afterlives” Varian’s(or anyone’s) soul could be anywhere! And no, they do not have to end up in any of the four covenants.

Blizzard (through interviews) have hinted heavily at us visiting another “afterlife” zone in an upcoming patch.

My guess is that an “expansion fully dedicated to the Light” would be very bland as the Light does not have a large cast of evil characters. Mostly consisting of just the Naaru.

I would guess we are going to see a Light Afterlife Zone in 9.2 which would feature:

Naaru
Maraad
Tirion
Terenas Menethil
Calia Menethil
Turalyon and Alleria (what’s been happening back on Azeroth in Anduin’s absence)

And open up the Arthas and Uther campaign/redemption arches.

(As for Garrosh, I suspect he will be included in the Thrall/Daka story line. His redemption from Revendreth and choice to become a new leader of the Maldraxxus, leading the heroes into a small raid vs KT.)

Thanks for the information. Never did Legion content on my Paladin.

You’re welcome! I don’t think it’s made obvious unless you play the paladin order hall campaign; Khadgar says that Krosus “didn’t strike the killing blow” but still blames him for Tirion’s death after you defeat Krosus in the Nighthold, and doesn’t elaborate further on what happened. Tirion survived long enough to be held captive by the Legion, and the Silver Hand attempt a rescue mission after they learn this from the ghost of Uther at Uther’s Tomb (which of course raises a whole lot of new questions considering what we know of Uther in Shadowlands). The rescue attempt is successful, and you manage to retrieve the Ashbringer sword as well, but Tirion’s injuries are too severe, and he tells you to wield the Ashbringer against the Legion before succumbing to his wounds. Tyrosus and the Silver Hand bring his body back to Light’s Hope and bury him with honors, thus setting the scene for the later stages of the death knight order hall campaign. Balnazzar makes an appearance during the rescue mission as well, and features as the main villain of the paladin campaign.

To be fair, Varian, the petulant man child that he was, can stay completely irrelevant in Shadowlands. We should be learning about how the afterlives NORMALLY work and learning about people from other worlds/timelines. Not asking to see more of human potential in SL of all places

He probably read that in the same Shadowlands magazine Ysera read when she learned that a Drust Thornspeaker helped the Kul Tirans with their Drust problems… long after she was dead.

Ysera was experiencing the events of Legion (following her death) and BFA while she was in her wildseed. She comments that she thought Sargeras stabbing Azeroth and Teldrassil burning were just nightmares, not events that actually happened.

Plus I’m sure Ysera would’ve known about Ulfur and the Thornspeakers, they are druids after all. Plus Ulfur and his group of Drust did help the Gilneas settlers fight Gorak Tul and his Drust, mainly because Gorak Tul sold his people for power by binding them to Thros.
