People always argue that giving a healer 5% mainstat that isn’t even up permanently is incredibly broken. But mages have been giving out 5% mainstat permanently for 20 years.
Then blizzard decided to give druids a buff for 3% vers, and then shamans with a mastery buff. Both of these things buff healer throughput and affect tank mitigation.
Chaos brand can also be included for disc priests, not sure about monks though.
There are other things in the game like this, but they are not really in your face so I guess that’s a benefit so the players don’t come after you?
Um, I’m not really getting your point. I don’t know much about other specs, are you talking about an aug nerf or something? Did they used to give healers 5% main stat? Also, mages give 3% intellect, same percentage as druid’s versatility buff.
As a healer I honestly can’t feel the difference from the mage buff, it’s too small to notice. I haven’t played with many aug’s this season but last season I didn’t really notice a big difference in healing when I had an aug in my group. A good aug made keys run smoother but it’s not like I felt like, omg my healing is so much stronger when they are here.
Yeah, they used to give healers 5% mainstat, just like mages used to, although that got nerfed to 3% cause caster comps were too dominant + dh brand and everyone but warrior? does magic damage in some form so monk buff was just bad in comparison.
The point is the weird double standard where it’s only problematic if an aug does it but people are apparently blind to anything other specs do.
oh, when did this nerf happen? I don’t doubt there is a double standard, the aug hate is so weird. Yeah, I get it that in like +15s or higher aug’s were tremendously helpful, but even in 12s and 13s I saw plenty of keys done without them.
It was a recent change that went live this patch, on top of some weird nerfs that basically made aug compete against tanks in damage which is why you hardly see anyone play it anymore.
Yep, a big part of that is how good evoker utility is. 2 knocks, sleepwalk, source of magic, Zephyr, spatial paradox, and rescue shield.
The problem is, aug had a better time actually using those buttons and you probably never saw a single devastation “wasting” a gcd pressing utility. And aug just has the benefit of being able to buff the OP classes so they didn’t have to worry about having bad damage patterns that didn’t fit too well in dungeons.
With the mage buff, you can taste any flavor of mage. They have three options to sample. The aug is only one very bitter-tasting flavor. However you have a good point about the class buffs, which I wouldn’t miss should they all be deleted. I have an adventurous mouth and want to try all sorts of flavors. And sometimes I want to try 5 of the same flavor, without others, without penalty. Buff 100% druid teams!
