I’ll be honest, nothing I see in that trailer makes me want to play the game.
Man how the mighty have fallen. I remember the “good ol days” when WoW players would be all over YouTube harassing every new mmo community talking about “What’s dem subscriber numbers tho?” And feel so cocky and confident in WoW’s superiority.

If you say that a subreddit is full of people saying X, and someone can’t find any examples of anyone saying X, it’s not sealioning to request for examples they can actually look at lol.

My thoughts exactly when I read criticisms of XIV that are very apparent that the poster never played the game meaningfully. Especially that Duderonomy guy. A week ago he was trying to say XIV had nudity because he saw a picture of someone who had a nude mod and didn’t even bother to check if it was a nude mod or just baseline to the game. He just ran with it.

Dungeons que’s are still quick for leveling. Unlike how It was when I arrived with this game In 2018. There are people are everywhere I go. Unless It’s the middle of the night and early morning. So the whole thing kind of wreaks of a projection of ones Internal simulation, with It’s limits.
The statistics people feed off of aren’t official. And I would like to have the official ones to actually get a good look.
This is all doom and gloom.
Too many are too addicted and invested in this game. A lot of them are just acting out. You won’t convince me otherwise on this. It’s happened before and happened in other games.
EQ lost favor because the playstyle was far outclassed by competitors. Same concept as FFXI. I don’t pretend it’s something it isn’t.

because its hard to understand whats going on if you dont know the story of the game,its not like wow,characters that exist on the beginning of the 1st expansion still exist and are not nerfed down due to some ahem banshee queen,and the guy with the shining armor is your character,the story revolve around you
i hate shadowbringer trailer until i finished the expansion,if i could rate both of the game stories FFXIV as of right now is probably 8/10 for me and wow is 5/10(legion was the last time we get some good sh*t)some of the wow side quest are way better than the main story right now

Neither do I, but seeing the problem, instead of making the I QUIT WOW meme, or I care about Final Fantasy because I am a tolerable person (wink, wink)
We should see what ideas would be positive and with better creativity without affecting the censorship that thanks to California is affecting the creativity of making better entertainment.
That is why WoW should be more like a JRPG and do not say that it does not, because in previous post I already mentioned many things that would be JRPG without having to be Japanese.

Blizzard has to listen to the true community to improve WoW, not a community that is only interested in its political ideology and does not help the game at all.
They must let Blizzard aiming high, and ignore the community especially in the forum, their pride cost them all the quality of the game.

What is this exactly? It’s a site that scrapes the armory for how many characters have a covenant (to kind of imply that they’re active in SL and not just level 1 AH alts) and have logged on in the last 28 days with some form of activity.
That number you see of 3.1 million? That’s how many active characters there have been in the last 28 days. 3.1 million characters. Now for the fun bit, how many alts do you think the average player has? I’ll be generous to Blizzard and say people have one alt generally in addition to their main. So 2 characters per player despite the fact a lot of people only have the one, and some people have as many as 10 they still do stuff on even if it’s not literally everything to maximize them.
3.1 million divided by 2. . . Yikes, that’s barely 1.6 million players still playing the game. Even if everyone had just one character, 3.1 million players. We’re playing a game that used to boast 12 million, had to stop selling the game early because they had 4 million subscribers and the servers couldn’t keep up with it. . . They stopped reporting sub numbers in WoD when they hit 5.4 million active subscribers. . .
Yeah, I’m sure they’re coming back despite in 9.0 the game at one point had 6 million active characters and 3 times the participation when it came to Castle Nathria that haven’t even bothered with the new raid.
These people aren’t coming back long term. At most they’ll visit you every two years for expansion release and peace after the month. In a way, yeah they might be back, but they won’t stay.

Honestly WoW needed a kick in the behind, maybe this is it. The arrogance and ivory tower design from the devs is appalling, where criticism is ignored and it’s “let me tell you why this is good” when people say something isn’t good. The emphasis on eSport garbage that has polluted the game’s design since Legion. They really should dial things back.
FFXIV is an okay game. It may not be for everyone but it has the feel WoW did years ago with maybe the exception of encounters being even crazier and WoW encounters I feel already have way too many things going on. The FFXIV fights I’ve looked at seemed 10x worse and as someone who really preferred the slower pacing in raids and dungeons,when you didn’t have a dozen flashing mechanics all over and not everything had to cater to people who want everything hard, it feels like there’s no place for me anymore.
