So when the FFIXV fad dies down

You reside In Blizzards domain. You receive filtered, NOT OFFICIAL statistics. You could be being played like a fiddle.

If the numbers are down greatly. It’s relevant to understand and Interpret what It means. And I remind you, non-official data. Would suggest that between a trend. And the lack of Interesting things to do. Are most likely the two culprits.

And I’ve already said what I think needs to change. The rest Is based on ground I don’t trust standing on.

Has nothing to do with it, the discussion is about the current trend of WoW players leaving in large numbers for Final Fantasy. Not a discussion of the game itslef.

How ever I agree it’s unlikely a fad.

And the link you sent of logs showing under 4mil with covenants, that’s counting people’s alts obviously…

So we are probably looking at around 1-1.5 mil players on retail, if that?

That’s pretty pathetic. Considering what it was on shadowlands launch and what WoW used to be.

he was streaming wow forever , 2 months mean nothing , i can’t wait until all this people stop referring to wow and move on with their lives

FFXIV’s peak is still less than WoW’s ‘pathetic’ lolol

mind the gap. Most of my friends that left for XXIV weren’t good at high-end PvE and left to do something less challenging. So I’m all for you doing it

No it’s not. FFXIV is almost double in population and trends

There is a lot that isn’t fully discussed with those numbers. They are being compared with the launch of Shadowlands. There was higher number of alt usage at the start then later on due to trying to find the character people prefer to main. This dip will make the numbers used appear to be a dip in over all players when it was just a dip in number alts people play. Additionally the numbers given was neglecting to mention the previous number was prior to the multi-boxxing ban. Which also contributes to a chunk going down. Still a fair share are leaving, but it’s not as bad as the bellular video makes it sound. Simply due to the numbers not being read in a way which includes the full picture. Just in a way that tells the story he wants people to see.

Wow has 5.6m players. FFXIV has 3. Saying ‘alts’ isn’t a rebuttal.

You play a Falafel in FFXIV don’t you?

This statement alone shows you barely know anything about how 14 works ir compares to wow.

So you’re trolling?

Don’t bother answering that.

The game itself isn’t a fad, it’s a fully flowing game.

It’s a fad to those who are just jumping there because they’re mad but will be back soon as their obsession won’t let them quit. And that doesn’t mean everyone, but many. I’ve seen the behavior so many times over the years.

We got flying. Off to EQ!

We got pandas. Off to GW!

WoD had no content. Off to FFXIV!

Then I see these same people coming back.

This entire post shows why so many people are leaving this game finally. This…weird elitist, better than thou trend wow has developed over the years. It makes for a rather pathetic looking player base as opposed to one that is there to just have fun and make for a memorable experience. And this is coming from a 14 year vet on wow.
Grow tf up and stop treating this game as some be all end all

No lie. True story yesterday.

WoW streamer I watch was dabbling in FFXIV. Of course her community beta simps immediately pop up in chat and offer to show up to her FFXIV character and give her everything she needs and chauffeur etc. Typical pathetic simp culture.

Anyways, the first dude rolls up in a legit Batmobile. Like how tf are people on here taking the game seriously when you drive around in the Batmobile.

It gets worse. He pops out of his Batmobile, as a weeb woman dressed in a FULL MAID COSTUME and bunny ears. And his bro that pops out after him is of course a Falafel.

I’m convinced the ‘FFXIV’ hype is really just a huge deep-web troll to make some of us realize how lame we are

Uh I’ll answer if I want to or not, your opinion/suggestion on the matter has literally 0 impact on that. In fact you telling me to not answer makes me want to answer more.

5.5m v. 3m. Mind the gap.

Idk everyone keeps giving me random numbers. It’s all pretty ridiculous, I agree. But to say FFXIV is doing worse than WoW is laughable.

Man I wish I was here for the Panda launch. OhhhhHH boy. I would of been trying to unlock Panda’s with a flame In me heart. :fire:

weird elitist better than thou trend that WOW has developed??

uh, have you read any post about wow by FFXIV players in this forum. There are several thousands a day.

Like how can you possibly take yourself seriously when you say things that are categorically false like that.

I don’t take people like you seriously. You obviously can’t do numbers. Now you’re saying there are thousands of FFXIV posts every day.

You should learn numbers and counting it’s really important.

The idea that anyone cares what a “content creator” would do just plain boggles my mind.

Weirdly I don’t see that, seems to mostly be wow players going on and on about how 14 will die and wow will always be king despite the evidence to the contrary

Does your assumption that people are giving you random numbers come from the fact you pull numbers out of your *** to win e-arguments on a regular basis so you assume everyone else does as well?

FFXIV barely outclasses OSRS…a game that cannibalized itself then uncannibalised it 10 years later when half their original sub base had aged out of interest.

Wow - 5.5m, FFXIV - 3m, OSRS - 2m

by what metric are you judging FFXIV population? WoW GD forum posts?

We live so rent free in those Falafel’s heads they have to camp out on our forum. Tell Square Enix to take some design notes while their simps are camped out here on how to design a raid
