Title says it all. TC is still a broken mess final bosses are still grossly over scaled. You literally have to hope you get the right enemy’s and absolutely perfect rolls to even complete it. This has nothing to do with skill and everything to do with RNGesus. There’s no way some of the final bosses iv gone up against are remotely intentionally balanced this is ridiculous. Some of the health and damage outputs on one run vs another are laughably offensive in difference. This isn’t balanced this isn’t fun. When is this actually going to get fixed? While you at it fix the scaling on time walking to its also completely overtuned and broken to the point where you cant even get a group on time walking weeks post shadowlands. Its obvious for all to see it needs some tuning.
Unless a hugely significant portion of the playerbase ignores content, Blizzard usually doesn’t change it. Even then, their usual approach is to just throw more rewards (usually cosmetic) at it and hope that convinces people.
I remember when they kept tinkering with the Oculus back in WotLK. “Stop leaving the dungeon, we took out lots of trash mobs and added bonus loot! And a mount!” Didn’t really work, as I recall. More recently we saw this with Island Expeditions in BfA. Don’t think it worked there either.
So yeah, unless lots and lots of people just ignore TC, it will probably stay the same. And as much as people complain about it, I’ve seen plenty of people with the mount. Blizzard has no way of measuring if people love it or hate it, just if they do it, and they apparently are…
people are ignoring TC no one in my guild has step foot in it post week 2. Its a waste of time.
I’ve ignored it because I’m not about to grind 8 hours of standard Snoregast to unlock it, only to be faced with TRIPLE SNORGHAST.
If they’re gonna do a “roguelike” they should do it right. No other popular roguelike that I’m aware of takes progression away from you for failing. This one does. And provides no rewards. So why would I bother?
The e-peen crowd isn’t gonna sustain this.
Well don’t yell at me, I don’t like it either.
Even the reward fails to catch my interest. A mount you can use in a terrible zone, that only prevents the use of regular mounts… so you’ll try to grind out the Torghast one? It’s all so circular. All I have to do is say “you know what? I don’t need a mount for the Maw, because I don’t need the Maw” and the whole thing falls apart.
Heh, I wasn’t yelling at you, I was yelling at the system
This exactly.
I must be kinda awesome because it feels easy for me.
I play Havoc DH and both Balance and Guardian Druid. Perhaps other classes need to have Torghast tweaks to make it less frustrating.
The one thing going for Demon Hunters is that they’re basically the ultimate solo world content class.
That and DH’s get some really good anima powers in Torgast.
If it was broken no one would be able to complete it, but plenty of people have. So… try again.
my enh was getting 1tapped around floor 15 on layer 3
wild
can’t wait for layer four to 1tap at floor 8 so i have to kite literally everything to progress
I did it, just so I could say I did it.
As a druid you can imagine how thrilled I am to have the corridor creeper.
You haven’t gotten very far yet in TC. Don’t celebrate yet. Let us know when you reach layer 8.
That’s fair, when would you say it gets hard?
Depends on how many people are with you. Also it depends on your class and whether or not you find the out of scale monsters that kill you in one hit or if you find a bug that kills you mysteriously with nothing in your combat log to tell you what the hell it was (happens to my roommate all the time in layers 5 and 6).
I did it with 181 ilvl. Sure I’ve played at a decently high level previous exp, but I am not in Shadowlands. It isn’t that difficult.
I think I one-shot 1-6, 7 took two tries, and 8 took three tries.
It gets easier once you learn it. Fun fact: unlike the non TC levels, you can exit TC and re-enter for new starting powers and a different starting floor. Shoot for the one with the little skeletons and use a ravenous orb on the casters. Get the power for 10+ anima from skeletons, and buy everything from the vendors. EZ
I got my quest done there and haven’t been back.
Torghast has a huge imbalance between covenant anima powers. For instance, the Venthyr talents for Warrior basically allow you to permanently stun-lock any enemy with Condemn. Meanwhile, the only upgrades for Kyrian just increase its duration and damage. That’s it.
I decided just to swap to Venthyr last week after the Kyrian campaign wrapped up so I can finish Twisting Corridors.
Mmm I can’t speak specifically for other classes but I had a similar train of thought when doing layer 3 and I solo’d all 8 in the end.
IME floor 1 thru 6 is pretty much a joke on all 8 layers because it’s just regular torghast at this point.
7-12 can be difficult, but it isn’t crazy. I had a few second boss deaths just due to not playing well or trying to burst. Even on layer 8 I didn’t really struggle until 2nd boss timeframe.
Flooe 13 through 18 is where it gets real, even as early as layer 3 or 4. However at a certain point the layer scaling becomes irrelevant as far as their damage goes because certain mobs (specifically lords) can just chunk you regardless of what defensive you get so unless you can stunlock, can burst them down, or just have insane self healing you really just need to avoid them. On L8 floor 16 I encountered two that I couldn’t go around so I had to sit on CDs so I could burst them down because eternal torment was about 40% per tick.
I never really struggled against bosses to any noticeable degree. Didn’t 1 shot everything, but I don’t think anything took me 3.
Yeah apparently our time is of no consequence to them and they enjoy trolling, enraging and wasting our time
I’m really hoping they add more to TC. I was expecting something on the level of mage tower challenge. There were also sadly no cosmetics just the mount, which while useful is super duper ugly.
