So when are delves going to be for solo players?

I’m still getting one-hit full-health kills with bosses after dungeons that are pretty balanced.

Spinshroom, and the underwater guy.

The balancing makes no sense, and Brann is beyond worthless.

When is this getting fixed?

They already are, every class can solo it already.

This sounds like a skill issue. Delves are already the easiest when done alone, when compared to a group

You need to avoid certain attacks… Move around.

All the delves except maybe 4 I’ve done solo. My cousin tried playing wow but he’s not an MMO guy. I ran some delves with him but that was a while ago.

What Tier are you doing? Start with Tier 1 then work you way up. If you are getting one shot at any given level, drop down one until you have the gear to advance.

I struggled with delves until I learned how important using your environment is. Like all those annoying spores? They are your best friend during fights because you can learn to train them to your target and while you run out of the explosion, it nukes all of them. Same goes for Brann’s traps he lays down, those are priceless and do lots of DOT damage.

(Notice they put so many spores around Spinshroom? Yeah, use all of those and stack them, and it’ll knock most of his health away for you to finish him. Works great once you get the timing down of avoiding spore explosions.)

Hope this helps.

Most bosses have that 1 shot/kill ability. You just need to avoid/interrupt it. Some classes have it easier that others.

Having said that, I am struggling to clear all the 11’s and I’m someone who has never stepped foot in M+/Raids (outside LFR) so I can’t see my Ilvl getting much higher this season.

All my best gear has come from delves/catalyst. Also finding it difficult to burst down the egg adds on Zek on ??.

This is the only part I find annoying as a solo player… But, we asked for a challenging solo mode and we got it. Not gonna complain, just gonna keep trying.

Brann really isn’t bad if you use the right things for him. I use the time warp and potions and do just fine on solo delves.

No offense meant here, but it sounds like you’re having trouble with the mechanics themselves and not Brann.

delves are for solo players, solo means YOU need to do the mechanics because nobody else is going to do them for you.

which attacks are one-shotting you? There are definitely some mechanics in delves that are intended to be fully avoided every time, and never tanked (not even with a cooldown)

There’s definitely something weird about delve scaling right now. I tried doing a tier 8 at 586 ilvl as a disc priest, Brann was set to DPS with maxed out good curios and I had no trouble at all the whole time.

Until I got to the final boss and I was rotating my CDs to try to live and I just couldn’t keep myself up. Switched Brann to healer and I was still struggling but I finally managed to kill the final boss with like 1000X more struggle than literally anything else I encountered in the rest of the delve.

I have no idea why the final boss is so much harder than the rest of the delve for so many specific delves, it doesn’t make any sense.

That might explain it, I don’t have an interrupt as a disc priest, I just had to rotate my defensive CDs and hope that I lived or that Brann also threw out some heals to keep me up.

I am not a good player. My eyes, joints, and reflexes are definilely too old.

But I do not have problems with Delves … well, apart from them being so boring and generally meh that I too often tab out to YouTube instead. Or just hearth out in the middle because I don’t care enough to finish.

As others have said, take Delves at a Tier you can do comfortably while you buiild up the gear to do later Tiers.

Learn the mechanics of each.

As for the bosses, they are something like a train crash: the only thing better than presence of mind is absence of body. They should never touch you with their big-hit abilities, because you should be somewhere else. Spinshroom and the Undersea Abomination and all the rest of the Delve bosses are very predictable in their movements and attacks. They do this, then a few seconds later they do that, and finally they do something else. Than they take a few seconds and repeat. Know the sequence. Know how to react to it. Run away a lot. Sometimes, on some classes, I spend more time running away than I do attacking. That’s OK. That’s fine, if they can’t touch me.

I did Undersea Abomination a couple of hours ago, so it’s fresh in my memory. When he does his big blast, I run away. When he drops his fungal spore things, I run away as they follow me. When he does his poison breath thing, I run to one side or behind him. Lots of running! Slows down the kill, but he can’t lay a glove on me.

Get DBM addon with the Delves module. It’ll give you warnings.

Brann is a gem. I recommend speccing him according to the “Healer-Taunt” build specified here.

while you’re gearing up.

Once he gets some levels and you have the relics, he’ll save your life again and again, and when you get used to keeping track of where he drops his red potions for you to run over to heal up, you will fear nothing.

Are you using that character for Delves? If so, then you should really get some more gear first.

If you’re gonna one tapped by either of these you are facetanking mechanics.

They’re very easily doable solo right now.

That means you’re either standing in the bad, or wearing broken gear.

Nope.

Nah it’s definitely the interrupt thing. If you don’t have an interrupt at all or one with a long CD, if you run out of defensives you’re kind of screwed and gotta pray Brann throws out a heal. I couldn’t even keep myself up spamming Flash Heal on myself through some of the boss’ abilities in delves.
