Just read the tooltip, and it just gives a flat 10% spell damage. So what’s the point? Why not just give us a 10% buff, and get rid of Shadowform?
It made sense when it gave spell damage, plus physical damage reduction, but now we have focused will, so there’s no point.
It just seems silly to me to have a permanent spell damage buff tied to an ability. If it’s going to be active at all times, why not just bake it into the spec?
If it was removed, we’d also get to enjoy transmog like every other class… Just saying
I’m pretty sure it’s so we can distinguish a dps priest from a healing priest. I remember reading something where it said that blizzards goal was to make all class/specs distinguishable from one another.
Then my suggestion would be to have shadow energy build up around the priest as they build insanity. Shadowform really has no more use, I don’t mind being purple in Voidform, but when it’s a simple 10% spell power increase I’m with tc, bake it in and get rid of it.
Because in its current form it looks stupid and has no interesting use. It used to mean something. Healing took you out of shadowform. Losing your damage reduction when you healed was a risk. Its just another global to spend when you rez now.
It is when the ability has been stripped of all interaction and any kind of fun. It is no longer is removed by casting holy spells, no longer gives damage reduction, no longer adds anything to the spec other than flat damage.
It’d be like Blizzard giving you an Aura for auto attacks that you have to turn on every time you log in. What’s the point? Why not just bake it into the spec and remove a completely useless button?
And class identity is hardly any argument when shadow has been overhauled twice in the last 2 expansions
