Im a new player (2 months in 8.3 on another account) and I have really liked using the 1 button so far for leveling. Although I will say I am not learning any rotations or any order to anything. It sorta feels like a video game and not a MMORPG.
Anyway, Im just curious if anyone has tested the DPS loss of the “correct” rotation -vs- the 1 button in raids and M+?
Thx!

WoWhead made an article on it.
Augmentation Evoker is actually wildly good on it.
There isn’t specific M+/Raid testing.

AHh thanks for this… it is single target also. Wonder what it is like for 4+ targets

It’s a GCD penalty for using it. Some specs that matters, some specs that doesn’t.
Honestly they should just make it a damage penalty to make it even.

Honestly I also think it’s probably kicking above its weight for what it provides. I agree with your suggestion.
Alternatively just don’t allow it in content past normal raid/m4-5 and remove the penalty.

The shadow priest aoe really impressed me, I guess it’s because the spriest ST is already good and the aoe rotation is very close to the ST one.

to be fair they kinda did, because the rotation it gives you is wrong to begin with so you lose damage following it.
Why not look at the rotation, and use it your self = 0 dps loss
Yea i noticed that with Havok, they did blade dance, and then the eye beam lol
I hit 1800 in 40 games testing out sub in blitz with it.
Wasn’t pure single button as I decided when to use cc,cds, and def but it was only bad in aoe scenarios
The sooner you guys realize this is blizzards “Accessibility mask” and the real reason is mobile and console gaming and expanding wow to those audiences. I guarantee that’s what this was truly for.
What do I know however, just some trash nub that’s played since 04.

I mean…wow has controller support already. Steam deck users rely on it. I honestly believe most players would find using the triggers as macros and the a.b.x.y. buttons easier then keybindings.
Only issue is its hard to select specific mobs for interrupts/cc in packs with a joystick.

The rotations/priority it chooses or has loaded is already bad so its a bigger decrease than just the GCD penalty. Same with the suggested rotation as its running off the same list.
It’s all I 'm gonna use now, blizzard brought it out so I’m taking full advantage of it and if people are toxic towards me for it I’ll just report them. They need to follow the game rules and just accept that blizzard made this tool for a reason. I just have 1 single button assistant set up on my bar for combat and 1 for silence, 1 for stun and 2 defensives that’s all I need to worry about now. Best update this game has done to date.
I’m not a dps fanatic so I play this as a game and not a full time job or act like I’m going to Blizzcon so I’m just gonna do me.
My Ui looks so amazing now I truly love it.

Eh, but that can be tweaked and fine tuned. Plus even if this was a fair argument it still has a GCD penalty to it. If it’s a flat damage percent then people kind of understand exactly what they are getting out of it.
I actually saw an uptick in my DPS when using it because there were certain parts of my rotation that just didn’t seem to fit. Now between the one button rotation and the new ability highlight system, I have my rotation matching the one button and I have the one button just above the rotation. My damage only went up about 12% but now I have something to fall back on if my hand starts cramping from the carpal tunnel.

Assuming you are doing a perfect DPS rotation it’s a 25% loss.
This isn’t factoring in buffs, defensives or utility spells.
Agreed as it is much more punishing to energy classes.
I do quite a bit lower with it. Probably around 30% loss
I’d suggest getting a damage meter and to go hit some target dummies. Then you can compare your damage to the OBR.
But like others have said sim damage vs the OBR is available.
