So what's the deal with silithus?

so i was leveling in classic tbc hit level 28 decided to take a break and knock out some midsummer fires and do a low level quest at each fire for some extra gold. when i get to my priest and start doing the encrptyed twilight texts quest with the quest mobs set to BEFORE THE SHATTERING i notice all the values are set to LEVEL 110 except for mob health and damage. (i still refuse to acknowledge the level reset.) four months ago when i quit there was no issue with this. i come back and now the zone is completely broken. did something happen to this zone? because i was under the impression that mobs IN VANILLA WOW WERE SCALED TO 500% DAMAGE. not normal damage.

Dunno, but, when they released “classic WoW”, did they release the original, unfinished version of Silithus? Because that place was awesome/weird/weirdly awesome.

I mean pre-BC gong-ringing/twilight dudes everywhere. Empty-ish zone with bug towers and other oddities. Did they do that?

dunno im only at level 28 right now. slowly making my way to 70. currently questing in thousand needles. my favorite quest chain of all time is in there.

I believe it was during Legion, after level scaling, when I noticed it was as hard to kill those mobs on a level 110 as it was on a low level I had in the zone about the same time. I assumed they had scaled them up to make it harder for max level players to farm them for rep. It wouldn’t surprise me in the least if they based the TBC version of Silithus on that on the one that had that adaptation.

Small indie company. I suggest posting in the bugs forum.

this isn’t in the tbc version it’s in the retail one. i had it switched to before the shattering.

I’ll send a couple of characters to take a look. Often it is instructive to see what 2 different characters are seeing. Obviously something missed by the QA department. Most of which got laid off during BfA.

it was the twlight mobs specifically that are taking damage at the same rate as lvl 110 mobs.

That’s what I saw back during Legion.

Edit to add: What I’m seeing on a level 50 is twilight mobs at level 30 with 2165 hp. My level 24 sees level 23 mobs with 1216 hp. Where does the “level 110” you are using come from?

What I observed is that it takes 2 hits for a level 50 to kill a level 30 non-elite mob, and that’s way off. My level 24 seemed to be doing appropriate damage for a leveler.
