So what's going on with all the horde druid bots?

I have seen these constantly since the multiboxing update. It’s always a horde druid in flightform with a “friend” ridiing bareback.

Bareback herbing is the new multiboxing. I’ve seen them in groups or just a single “couple” and I can’t even report them because they are constantly moving.

I see them all the time, but I’m not entirely sure it’s botting. I just assumed it’s players running two accounts and alt-tabbing to gather.

Very possible it’s botting but I would need more proof.

It can’t be alt-tabbing because I’ve watched them hit the herbs and it’s robotic. Instant herbing on both while they fly around in a preset farming circuit.

They just fly in circles in the same zone hitting the same herbs. They are 100% bots. Always horde. Always druid flightform with a bareback herber to double the herbs farmed.

Back when I use to mine in wrath, I’d fly the same route for hours every evening after people in guild went to bed.

Same, I’ve been reported as a bot before because i went on a 10 hour netflix binge while just farming in a loop in icecrown

Ya I’ve flown in circles farming nodes too but this is always horde barebacked druids double herbing instantly and it’s very easy to see when it happens right in front of you. The druid lands on the herb robotically and they both instantly herb it at the exact same time and the botting software takes it off along the route.

ah well then that is for sure bot behavior. i’ve only seen them when they land on the ore i’m tapping.

That’s not a bareback herbing bot binge. That’s just randomly fling around a zone while you watch netflix. I’m talking about actual bots.

I mean it is, Since i am signed into two accounts while i do it, Sure i am using the mouse between windows to click the herbs

But it’s still 2 characters moving and looking clumsy like bots can

I’m just glad I get a nice in-game mail letting me know my reporting of them botting helped. I find that most seem to be in Maldraxxus.

That isn’t what I am talking about at all.

I am talking about automated software that is playing the game for people while they are afk breaking TOS.

This is just blatant botting. It’s been going on for months no consequences.

I would be careful if I were you when reporting people like that; if I am fairly certain the character is a bot, I put in the report that I suspect it may be a bot. I then leave it up to Blizzard to figure out if it is or not.

I try to do a few checks first. Is the character wearing decent gear and not low level easily obtained stuff? Is the character in a guild? (Thats not always a guarantee as they sometimes accept random guild invites but it can be a sign if they aren’t.) If its a high level character you can sometimes do a quick armory check to see if it has decent achievements, etc. Not everyone wants to do that but I often do as you can be slapped for constantly reporting people who are innocent.

boxing and botting arent the same thing.
bots have absolutely no reason to box whatsoever, which is why I can never figure out why the two even comes up in the same discussion, lol.
every bot ive seen will do what other bots are doing, but its because they are programmed to do that, not because theyre boxing.

right…so thats probably bots. I just saw a pack of them maybe 48 hours ago.
This botting problem isnt going away. Online crap like this has been a problem since online games began. As long as there is an online, some basement dwelling hacker is going to figure out a way to hack and cheat.

With the way I farm, Im very sure Ive been reported as being a bot a number of times.
Frankly, if i see bots farming I jump in and farm myself just to see what theyre hauling in, lol. Im sure if someone saw that they’d think I was just one of the bots.

right…but there are consequences. As I said above, these people just start over again if theyre busted. Theres literally no reason for them to quit, and this will always be a thing while there is any motivation. And sometimes motivations can be as simple as some bored clown with nothing better to do. Trust me, they used to hack my websites all the time and there literally is no financial benefit to doing so, lol.

Just report and move along. Dont lose any sleep over it.

According to these standards, one would think that I was one lol

That’s something a bot would say

Outdated goodies :sunglasses:

I was under the impression that bots don’t really speak. Let alone post on forums…

More bot propaganda…

Easiest way to not be reported as a bot IMO is to not be perfectly optimal.

I’ve spent upward of an hour circling zones herbing and never been reported because no bot is going to be a human mage riding a dalaran manhole cover mount. With the blacksmithing stirrups it’s almost as good as being a druid or using one of those obnoxious shredders but won’t get you ticketed.

I tend to follow them and make sure that’s what it is happening but often a lot of the time its multiboxxing and not botting. I think the botting hasn’t been rampant in some time on my times running around.
