Been running as a tank more often, and between all the jumping and gliding and occasional exploding, I’ve been using my thinker to think about things.
One of those things is Abyssal Strike. What happened to it? Where did it go? Why have my jumpies gone from Abyssal Strike to Abysmal Strike?
Not sure about you guys, but as a simple-minded fellow, I personally enjoy jumping and exploding. Now, I can jump, and I can explode. However, I used to be able to do both of those things together on the same button. The perfect union of function and fun. Personally, I prefer it that way. I’m not big on having a bunch of things to place manually, so just jumping somewhere and BOOM and then leaping somewhere and BAM is what I like to do.
Now I dunno about “optimal play” and “da good numbers” or “stop leaping out of LoS you jackass” but what I do know is player choice is good, and I choose to jump and explode.
Thank you for attending my Tank Talk. Please let me know if you also wish to jump and go boom.

They got rid of it because of the redesign of flame sigil. It would be a little op to generate 30 fury on a leap.
So some funny little ground graffiti gives me 30 more angry points and now I don’t get to jump and boom no more? Why not have a talent for mini sigils on leap that don’t give the resource bonus or something?
i mean its more than that too. fury generation is pog but sigil of flame is alot stronger now. ya you can add a mini sigil too i guess
Oh you’re right, and I totally get that part. Putting it back as it was is not an option in the current class design.
Regardless, I’d like to see it exist in some form. Balance gets in the way of the original version being added, but an altered version could be implemented in the future.

same i would like to see it back too
Abyssal was a lot of fun and really made the spec flow better IMO. Now sigil feels weird to me I guess.

feel like replacing the sigil of flame with abyssal strike with 4 seconds of immolation would’ve been a cool way to keep it as a talent. Probably wouldve been too strong but sounds fun
Honestly, I’d even take just making Abyssal Strike it’s own thing entirely. Just add an explosion effect to the landing that has increased AoE and damage compared to base leaps. Doesn’t need to be tied to existing ground graffiti at all.
At the end of the day, I want to jump and explode. That’s all it needs to be.
