Guess they werent really needed huh

They likely had a goal with that before they Edward Scissorhands’d the expansion to retrofit it to be part one of this three part saga.

They actively participated in the fight with the Arachnids. There were Horde and Alliance generic units on the field fighting them in that one questline. I remember because the generic Forsaken was just a warlock which I thought was pretty lame when Apothecaries are kicking around Dornogal.

So that’s where the army went.

Wasn’t masterfully executed or anything but it was there.

The Alliance and Horde fought in the finale quest of the launch patch when we fought stopped Xal from doing whatever with Beledar.

I’m guessing the original plan was that the Nerubians, under Xal’s direction, would have invaded Harandar and either Xal would have made an attempt to corrupt the world soul or Harness the life energy in the roots of the world tree

Also, do we know if Xal is in the last Titan?

Delivered the other players you see walking around.

For all of WoW’s other failures in writing, they’ve been pretty committed since WoD to explaining why, even if you’re a super-special unique hero focused in a cutscene, you see other players running around. The first wave came with Dalaran, but the rest came with the A&H ships.

Also, Hallowfall reinforcements, other factional figures showing up in Hallowfall and Ahn’Kahet. There’s a constant fight going on with the Nerubians, first under Ansurek and then with her diehards after her fall.

Like it wasn’t the most masterful stroke or anything but it wasn’t actually a dropped plot point and I’m a little confused why this keeps coming up.
