So, what spec are you enjoying most so far?

Hope everyones enjoying the Rogue changes, what spec are you enjoying most so far?

Ive mainly been spending time with Outlaw and Assassination, Outlaw is giving me some troubles though just trying to grasp everything and keep up.

Assassination is fun so far, and eager to try out Sub next.

Still trying to figure it out.

Any talent build without Vigor and Thistle tea is likely to run into energy issues? That’s how it seems to me. But there seem to be builds without those that still put up competitive numbers?

Also, I feel like acrobatic strikes is essential for time on target, so, I will pretty happily give up Shadow dance, which I don’t understand at the moment, in order to be able to still hit a target when they are whirlwinding or whatever. But it seems a little more difficult to get to Acrobatic Strikes than it should be. I feel like that should be higher on the tree. Anyway.

I still like assassination, and I do think we got gameplay improvements, but I will need to get into some mythic and raids to test drive this stuff so I can understand it better.

Without vigor on outlaw, I’m simply auto attacking people to a very slow death

Ended up trying Outlaw in raid last night, wasn’t too bad and had fun with it. Probably try some M+ with it next, then give Sub a whirl

Outlaw HO feels a little clunky but probably just because my brain is still instinctively playing the old HO, once I get used to it, I think it’ll be pretty good.
A lot of builds suggest running Ghostly Strike, which I hope isn’t the case. Blade Rush makes a lot more sense anyway, Especially with how energy starved it feels at the moment.
Bit disappointed that the ER and HO builds feel so similar at the moment (both running shadow dance), but ER is banging in AOE when you line up your CDs though. I think we’re going to need our set bonuses asap though for either spec to really work though. My rogue can barely out damage my VDH on overall damage at the moment in some instances.
Rogue in BH over all: 150k
VDH in BH: 120k

i want to try asss., but the pvp gear dissapeared.

I like outlaw when i have multiple pistol shots in a row and then multiple ambushes in a row. Just feels good. Outside of that, its bland pve and no way pvp(to me).

I like sub, mosrly for the shadow aspect. Dont think spec changes would get me to not play sub till shadow is taken away.

Sin is alright i guess. Dont feel like bleeds and poisons are in the right spot. Dunno why. Like dont really bleed someone dry fast enough maybe.

I’m mostly playing Outlaw, trying the new stealth centered build, audacity+underhanded+crackshot.

First I tried Killing Spree… and i almost immediately dropped it. Sometimes it just plains out gets canceled. I think if it deals a killing blow to a mob the whole combo stops (happened a lot in FH runs, in those pulls with the Rat Commanders + small rats). It also gets instantly canceled if a player or a mob parries.
The old KS had the animation issue, but it cost NO ENERGY, and it was a nice way to refill it without using Thistle Tea… the new one still has a long cooldown, a hefty energy cost and the damage isn’t all that hot. It COULD be useful to bypass some mechanics, but I didn’t like it overall.

For the rest of the talents: the problem for me is the amount of RNG. Yeah outlaw’s all about it, but i think the new build pushes it a tier ahead with the amount of Ace up Your Sleeve procs Crackshot grants.

Getting my brain to work towards the 6 second stealth windows (to get as many BtE as possible) is getting easier… It would be IMPOSSIBLE without weak auras and even with current auras i’m still struggling to keep track of Stealth while juggling M+ mechanics.

Underhanded is AMAZING. I loved it! It’s a great way to play the stealth gameplay while also extending Adrenaline Rush and using LESS SnD (which i’m sure everyone enjoys)

The thing with Crackshot is that you are losing a lot of value if you don’t pick up Ace Up Your Sleeve, and you’re required to pick Ruthlesness to get Audacity. So you’re almost always getting 1 CP after a finisher and sometimes you get a Ace proc for 5 extra CPs.

It’s great when you get 3, 4 procs of Ace one after the other, it’s an amazing damage spike… but most of the times that’s not the case.

Since your stealth window is 6 seconds long it feels clunky to wait for the sound cue for the Ace proc before pressing BtE again… however, if you mash the button, you’re risking using a 1CP point finisher and wasting energy and DPS. So you can’t mash the button: you’re forced to react.

There is also the problem of using BtE at around the time stealth ends and you get the cooldown on BtE triggered… Audacity should substitute Sinister Strike’s button on the bar, but sometimes it kinda lags behind, so you press the button and SS goes out even with the Audacity proc On.

I would suggest using Enhancement’s Frost Witch talent as a way to reduce Ace Up Your Sleeve’s RNG: Instead of a 5% chance per CP to proc, have it proc every X CPs used. Would give a bit of control to Outlaw and would really smooth the rotation.

I would also love to see Restless Blades reduce Shadow Dance’s CD.

So far loving all 3 for what they are in pve, Sub and Assassination are lots of fun in pvp. Outlaw I don’t find as fun. Maybe because I haven’t gotten the hang of the damage yet. Seems like the devs did a good job.

Yup did some LFR as outlaw I mean it feels better but without Thistle tea there are times when I have no energy at all if I get a bad RoB proc.

At this point RnB should not cause energy and 30sec CD and SnD should have been passive at this point or maybe one of those apply it once and forget it buff make it like wind furry buff where SnD give party and raid 5% haste and casting speed last one hour.

I’ve been playing each on my main and 2 Rogue ALTs. Honestly, I love all 3 specs now.

Sin takes the cake for me. Its fun to watch people rot away from all my poisons and bleeds.

Unfortunately I’m afraid of touching sun because I know 100% it’ll get nerfed at some lvl. Blizzard knows very little when it comes to balance, is either one extreme (super OP) or the other (nerf bat till is nothing left).

Enjoying assassination. I mostly use it for wpvp and 1v1 situations. Got a bursty build with a good rotation. Nothing like strolling through the world, hanging by wpvp quest areas where you’ll always find some players on their mounts watching the show…. I open on them and put all my cd up…. Watch them fly with hope just to drop mid air from dots. Funny stuff.

I’m playing with

Kings B
Sepsis
dragon tempted blades.

Rotation is

Garrote/rupture/cheapS/shiv/ macro (mark for death-trinket-tea) kings B/sepsis/cheap shot. Then refresh garrote/rupture/shiv and Mutilate envenom

Is lit.

I was having the same problem on my main rogue. But on my US rogue I have no problem at all. I think once you get into the flow of the spec it becomes less of an issue.
I don’t use thistle tea, and have no energy issues whatsoever now. And this is on my rogue I just hit 70 with today.

This. The devs did a pretty solid job and I’m just waiting for the “balance” team Gestapo to come along and get their dirty hands on it and absolutely ruin it as soon as the devs are out the door.

Played mostly outlaw and did Sin on a couple fights in our heroic clear last night.

Crack shot is insanely fun. The sound effect of ace up your sleeve is hilarious.

Assas felt ok. I may try the non dance guild to see how it feels.

I didn’t put up my usual numbers as my oce was rolled to vers for outlaw and I was gemmed for vers.

asss. is fun, but I am consumed on other specs

So far I think im enjoying Sub the least.

Could be since I played a lot of Sub the last 2 patches, Sin and Outlaw are great and things are becomingly more and more comfortable for me rotation wise.

So far Assassination has been great. Lots of fun in BGs. Looks like it is shaping up to be much better in M+ and rated PVP in general.

I like Assa as well. Sub is just better I think, but for the first time in i dunno how long, Assa is actually good enough to play, not a million miles behind sub.

what a time to be alive

Yeah as an Assassination main it’s definitely an A-tier rework. There are a few outlying issues like Slice and Dice still being a mild annoyance to put up once a fight, no defensives in the Assassination tree, and no dispel protection for our largest cool down, but overall a very solid rework. The spec feels better than it has in a very long time and I hope Sub and Outlaw players feel the same about their specs.
