So what killed the hype?

I myself am not as hyped as before. Wondering what people think the reason is.

Uhhh. There is no way we could know why you are not hyped.

We do not all feel the same way as you.

The stress tests are not as populated before. Are you arguing that hype is the same? I’m making the post under the assumption we can accept that hype has died down across the board.

@Title, faulty premise. My hype is not dead.

The hype did not die at all. Just because more people are silent does NOT equal the hype is gone. There just not much to talk about for 3 months straight that we haven’t already have.

…

It’s the middle of a work day for most people.

Most people are not going to spend $15 to play for a couple days, to lvl 15

Plus, blizzard said they were making realms have different player caps to test the starting experience…

Do you not read?

But you are assuming that 2 servers mean few people. From what I see LOTS of people are crowded into the starter zone and. you have NO idea how many layers are going.

So numbers are a bit hard to determine based on 2 servers at this point

8.2 announcement killed the Beta Classic Server. Beta Classic is at level 40 cap. Most are at level 40. Nobody queues on BGs in there. Nothing to do anymore. Beta Classic Server is temporarily dead. Players there are now playing BFA.

I wanted to play stress test this morning. Now I’d rather read forums. I had a toddler experience of no its my tag, wahh!

Good joke. No one’s playing BfA. 8.2 looks like the same trash BfA has been, now with recycled Legion zones.

OP makes an entirely valid point. Just look at the number of people watching Classic streams on twitch- it’s gone way down.

I personally think people are just tired of watching others play beta and doing stress tests, they are ready to play “permanent” toons.

I’m in the stress test and SUPER HYPED

Also worth pointing out that the beta server didn’t go down for this stress test… So many or even the vast majority of the beta people aren’t doing the stress test.

I’d wager that a large chunk of the purpose of this test was to try and gauge the interest in classic as a whole, amongst BfA players… Particularly in the wake of the “8.2 is coming” announcement…

Streamers hyped the first stress test, people like Asmon or esfand, etc. They are not online today, also the beta server (where every streamer is playing) wasnt even shutdown, so the streamers and their viewers( some snipers) didnt event care about this stress test. Also, when did they announced this? 2 days ago? thats terrible planning.

Bad strategy, if that’s the case.

It’s a stress test for a game they’re probably not interested in contesting with the advancement of the game and character’s they’ve had for 15 years?

My hype level hasn’t died down.
However I am not really interested in rolling on a test server that will be down I’m two days.
I’m also not really interested in getting on the beta server as they didn’t invite enough people and hardly any of my friends got in.

Maybe try realm 15… I had a bunch of people inviting to groups for tags, people were all nice in my experience which was almost unwow like lol.

classic game in a niche genre that is arguably dying

this wont get the same hype that newer games coming out do

A stress test is not indicative of hype. People know this is temporary. Also, a lot of people were still at work when the server launched.
