I’m 48. WoW was my first MMO. I was 34 when my son told me I had to try this new game he got for Xmas 2004. I had been a huge fan of Bioware’s D&D games up to that point. and he thought I’d really like it.

The game used to cater to teens. Now it caters to busy moms and dads who don’t have time to play the game.

I started playing when i was 37, then i died for awhile so i had to take a break. Back now at 42 years old but sad how the game has changed over the last 5 years.

Well, of course the player base is older. The game isn’t the only thing that ages. The game holding the attention of as many as it has over the years is the biggest accomplishment honestly. Most of us have had families and major real life events since we started playing. Main reason why a game like WoW should support those that have stuck it out so long, just saying.

OMG I LOVED Star Frontiers! I bought the game but my friends didnt like it so never really played it. So many good old time pen and paper RGBs. Most unique one I really loved was Villians and Vigilantes - You are your character. Its a superhero RPG and you get your powers by choice (or sometimes random die rolls) so much fun. City of Heroes reminded me of it a lot.

I am almost 50. MMORPGs I have Played:
EveryQuest
Star Wars Galaxies
City of Heroes
Dark Age of Camelot
Lord of the Rings Online
Dungeon and Dragons Online
Everquest 2
World of Warcraft
Star Wars The Old Republic.

As you can see, I have really only play 1 game since I found WoW. I have gone back to EQ & SWTOR a bit.

I hate to say it but these games have changed a lot since they started and so has the playerbase.

Agreed. I was born at the perfect time to come of age during the golden years of gaming. I graduated high school in 2005 and started playing WoW the year before. So I was 17 or so. Now I’m 32. It would make sense that many other players were close to that age.

I’m 41 for a couple more months. Been playing since the beginning. Not as much anymore, just finding other games, but I always come back to wow.
