I played all during dragonflight and I made a ton of gold off my professions.
Fast forward to war within, and absolutely nobody is placing public orders. People would rather stand in dorn for hours shouting that they need a craft.
You guys (Blizz) put this system into place and then you completely disregarded it for war within.
Why? Surely there are things you could have done to fix the public station, like asking for a r4 and up item over just getting any random quality.
I like 3 things in WOW. Raiding, Battlegrounds and crafting. And sorry but crafting this season has been a bust unless you use addons to scan trade chat, which I refuse to do. I am not a bot.
Ok you may have the opposite issue. Because you are on the most populated server the orders could be snatched up before you even have the chance to get to them as many other crafters are looking for those orders.
Can run into another issue too. You are one of the few on the server with a very rare crafting item pattern (like start of a Season or Xpac) and you are only allotted 4 public orders a day. People will be in trade chat saying they have a public order up and wondering why they aren’t being made when the only guy on the server with the pattern whispers them to make them a private order.
Then you have the forums filled with people saying their public orders aren’t being done etc.
I mean, I havent seen a public order on my tailor since the first week of war within. I also have a blacksmith, same thing. ZERO orders. I have an enchanter- they make decent gold however the mats to make the enchants are sometimes more expensive then the final product itself. I have every profession except for engineering which I found boring.
I have one of each profession and do them weekly. Today I had 2 public orders on my DK Blacksmith. One was a herbing tool and the other was a chest with a 20k tip.
This week I’ve done 12 public orders so far (since Tuesday) between my crafters.
The issue with being on literally the largest populated server is that by the time you refresh public orders one may have gone up already and started to be worked on because you have thousands of other crafters looking for them.
And when you get a 0 mat order, or all of the mats are Quality 1 and they want a Quality 5 636 item with embellishment which could likely be impossible.
they can do more with the public order system but putting a minimum quality rank items isn’t it.
They should work at bringing all the old rep/ bop gear recipes for transmog from past expansion be available for crafting through the public order system. Heck they could even put the crafted toys, mounts and pets on there as well. I can’t be bothered making and posting the MoP JC mounts but would fill them with no problem if they were posted on the public orders.
(I saw one this past weekend that I could have 5-starred, but given how rare public orders are, I couldn’t justify spending a quarter million gold over the tip being offered to buy the recipe; appears it timed out without anyone picking it up)
All other qualities are essentially worthless for crafted gear and might as well never exist. For consumables they’re ok because they represent a cost savings.
For crafters, you hit a point where you need to either craft expensive epic pieces for skill ups (and then shard/vendor them because they’re either poor quality or can’t use them), or spend weeks limping along with a few KP until you can unlock a necessary pattern to make it easier.
I use public orders for my PvP crafted gear since ilvl/quality doesn’t matter, but I’m not risking my shards with a public order for the chance of someone crafting a lower quality item for the PvE gear
I see public orders on some toons like inscription and jewel crafting, but not on others, like Alchemy.
This is not true. I’ve used lots of T3 and T4 crafted gear until either I got something better or was able to find the final re-craft. And it’s always an upgrade from whatever was in that slot, previously
