So what does azerite actually do?

Like, they make bombs out of it? Is that it?

Basically it makes you feel like this:

It appears to amplify any latent or known behavior traits and skills of the user. In before the storm, Anduin feels a warmth like the light but very peaceful. Sylvanas feels a sense of unbridled power.

It’s almost as if the Azerite is the missing element - or perceived missing element - for everyone who comes into contact with it.

It’s like Super Soldier serum but worse.

Edit: Yvenathilm is typing, I’ll bet you anything he’s gonna say it’s Old God blood.

Edit 2: I was wrong.

The only ones with power who even have a desire to claim more Azerite than they already have are Gallywix and Ashvane. Sylvanas of course feigned a desire to claim Azerite yet her cut the Alliance off from the Azerite plan was nothing more than a farce and her real goal was to burn Teldrassil for the goals of the true enemy.

Azerite seems to fill anyone who comes into contact with it clever and cunning plans that are all sound. The reason for this is unknown yet Azeroth’s dream warned Ysera of the Hour of Twilight so Azeroth has(probably flawed) knowledge of the future somehow.

As to it’s appearance: it’s golden and blue for the same reason the sample of Argus’s blood is green and magenta so
 no idea. I wonder what the blood of other Titans looks like.

One might argue that since it comes from Azeroth herself, it’s possibly a sort of super-concentrated mixture of Arcane and Spirit power.

Hence when it comes into contact with something, its Spirit imparts vivifying properties to a subject, while its Arcane energy imparts an accelerated stability to the subject’s inherent properties. Strong materials become stronger, explosive materials become more potently explosive, magic becomes more powerful, etc.

The increase in “cunning” that may be arising from exposure to it could possibly result from the Azerite’s Arcane nature amplifying an individual’s capacity for organizing and formulating their thoughts. After all, in WarCraft the association between Intellect and the Arcane is more than just an RPG game mechanic. In-lore the latter can amplify and expand the former just as much as the former allows one to use the latter.

Most of the Titans had a specific power that was coupled with the Arcane, in one way or another. Eonar was very clearly Nature + Arcane, as an example. Argus seemed to be Death + Arcane, though I’m not sure if that was nature or a result of being used by the Legion. I’d argue Azeroth is a combination of Light and Arcane given the gold and blue color of Azerite.

I bet Eonar’s blood, Eonite, would’ve been green and blue.

Best analogy ever. Also, no way this Azerite crap isn’t actually C’thun’s blood.

A magic super-ore that gives visions of what could be; “It’s surface blazes bright, masking shadows below”; the color scheme of it is nearly identical to his (blue and gold); Sargeras’ sword came down right on where he is sealed; “The King of Diamonds has been made a Pawn”; “From the Earth he (Magni) draws strength. Our Earth. Our Strength”; and best of all “You’re Heart (Heart of Azeroth) will Explode”.

It’s whatever the writer needs it to be

The ultimate mcguffin that is being wasted by the current writers, literally this thing can do anything to enhance the user both in power and intelligence, to amplified weapons/spells to crazy levels and it’s capable of resurrecting powerful beings as we see in the dark irons questline with the cult of Ragnaros trying to resurrect him with Azerite

It’s really just a mcguffin, it has no actual properties of its own that matter. When you put it with literally anything else it just becomes do more do gooder.

Blue = Arcane.
Gold = Light.

Titans are associated with the Arcane already, and standing in liquid Azerite heals you. That’s how I figure it.

Anyway, Azerite is “MacGuffinite”. It does whatever they need it to do in a given situation.

So what does Argus’s Green and Magenta represent? Obviously the Green means Fel or Death but what does Magenta represent?

As I understand it’s basically a universal steroid. Want a bigger boom? blow ‘em up with azerite. Need better inventions? A cup of Azerite juice will get the brain pumpin’. Struggling with cooking? A pinch of Azerite is just what the recipe calls for. Sharper swords, stronger spells, more hair? Azerite can do it all! Call now and we’ll double your order FREE! That’s right double the Azerite at no extra charge, cause that’s how Azerite works.

Magenta = Shadow/Void.
Green = Fel.

Off topic but stopping them from bringing back Ragnaros is one of the saddest things ever for me. The line from the fire golem boss in Vault of the warden made me a little sad everytime i heard it. " So
 long
 where is my Lord of Fire, why does he not answer my call?"

Even if Ragnaros were brought back the new Firelord is already in place and has accumulated power in the meantime. Ragnaros’s only way of salvaging everything is using his supporters to make one desperate invasion of the Abyssal Maw(which would be a 3 Zone Continent) serving as of it’s Zone villains(with other Villains being Ahune and the last being someone new).

Al’Akir could also be brought back and obviously he’d fit quite well as the villain of 1 Zone in a Skywall Continent with Sarsarun being the villain of another Zone(the 3rd Skywall Zone would probably have it’s own villain).

Due to the reactions of Anduin and Sylvanas and of what we’ve seen it do, I assume it’s a generally enhancing power. Not of one particular power except maybe arcane. Like, whatever it is you have, you can slap Azerite on there and it would enhance the thing you had before. Fire magic? Now you have Lava magic. Ice Magic? Now it’s a frozen storm.
Maybe those are exaggerations, but it’s to get the point across. It also seems to be fairly explosive as well, as it’s commonly used as an alternative to gun powder. Or,
 maybe they’re mixing it into the gun powder to enhance it’s explosive properties.

Basically it appears to have the effect of amplifying/enhancing the properties of whatever its mixed with.

They are still alive, Ragnaros can easily return with Azerite or when the black empire returns.

What I am more concerned is how blizzard will justified to not use the azerite to bring back some characters or make then more op, for example Xalatath could start to consume azerite to make herself stronger or Kel’thuzad could use that with some old friends
