Honestly? Arthas, the complaints about the first movie pertained to it literally not being understandable by someone who hasn’t had prior knowledge of lore. Meanwhile, Arthas is basically the most basic and a fan favorite his story doesn’t have many complexities. Though they might continue with Thrall I guess too most likely.

But Arthas’s story wouldn’t be too bad. It’s basically the most easily understood.

Arthas.

A gorilla could understand his story because of how simple it is yet it’s still basically one of the best-written stories in video game history.

Warcraft 3 for sure. Preferably Arthas’ story.

IMO starting at the actual beginning was a mistake. Thrall is iconic, but his parents far less so.

They should have done it Star Wars style. Start at the most iconic part and then focus on expanding the universe with prequels and sequels.

The response was bad enough to how the first movie handled the characters and story. I’m trying to imagine what would happen in Legendary managed a similar total mess up with Arthas.

Actually, I don’t need to imagine it. I doubt I’d even visit the forums for a month or so to avoid the miasma of horror that would result.

I hate to give them too much credit, but I’m not sure they’d be stupid enough to screw up the story of Arthas. If they knew what was good for them, they’d follow the story exactly and break it up into 2 parts. The only way that fails is if they have too much horrible CGI and bad acting.

same. warcraft would work much better as a tv show. gives them time to really expand on the lore so it’s not confusing for people that don’t know much about it. would be awesome if they could get a partnership with like HBO to fund it too
season 1 could be the war of the ancients, season 2 could be the first war, season 3 could be arthas, and so on.

I’d love another warcraft movie. The visuals in the first one were just splendid. Sadly for a regular viewer the movie was sooo confusing for them though. Which is why the next should defo be about the literal easiest story to understand in WoW history. Arthas.

It was a good video game movie, but I can definitely understand why people who aren’t turbonerds who’ve virtually memorized Warcraft lore would be turned off by it.

First half following him as a Paladin, finishing with him taking up Frostmourne.

Second half with him as a Death Knight, culminating in him becoming the Lich King.
