With the shaman changes coming next week on the beta, what all are we hoping to get in terms of changes?
Personally I’d like to see Ankh turned into a cheat death like passive and for Astral Shift to get a 2nd charge. I’d like to see the removal of pwave entirely and have it replaced with a shaman themed Chain Harvest (the dream) or fae transfusion. I’d also like to see a new glyph for ascendance that functions like druids star form glyph. A fourth tank spec would be a dream come true as well. SoD showed there is an audience of people that would play it. So just…make it happen.
For enhance specifically I’d like them to take the windfury aura that we get from Totemic and just…apply it baseline. As long as we have windfury, the rest of the group is also getting windfury.
Well other than the things you have mentioned, in a perfect world for elemental, at the absolute least 2 of the following:
Another defensive on a sub one minute cooldown.
Flame shocks horrendous cooldown and spreading issues finally being worked out.
Icefury being binned, or at the very least just make it a damn passive that puts Frost Shock on an 8 sec cooldown and providing the bonus effects.
Streamlining the talent trees up to and including the hero talents, all are problematic.
They have already said we aren’t getting a raid buff and want to make sure we have a raid spot with other tuning, other than pity from proper classes I have absolutely no clue so lets see it.
More balanced stat scaling, at the moment either mastery or crit ends up being an almost entirely dead stat depending on the build you run.
Earthquake needs modernising, trying to chase the tank with them feels terrible.
Preferably they do at least something about all of them, but I have to admit I am still nervous. I remember our promised BFA rework , along with the monstrous aura buffs they have had to give to us a few weeks after the launch of the last 2 expansions to bring us up to the glorious heights of an at best B- spec.
Of things not mentioned, I’d like to have the spell-fx updates that we received in Legion, but got removed due to backlash. If not those, I’d really love some of the FX from dragonflight elementalists.
Talent trees redesigned. Remove majority of 2 point talents, shuffle around some capstones and increase pathing. Hopefully some new talents as well that are useful or fun.
Ascendance new visual
Better defensives. Make reincarnation a proper cheat death. Make burrow a PvE talent.
Better utility. Give shaman a raid buff. Hell, give us two raid buffs like paladins have.
Reincarnation needs something. Used to have Astral Shift when reviving, need shorter CD, higher HP % or different mechanic entirely.
Would like to be able to access Gust of Wind easier. Also can some talents have different values? 6 sec off totems? 35 yard range + 3 seconds? Random + Triggering
Give us 40 yard 10 sec off + 5 sec extension
Mained Resto in SL and dabbled a bit as Ele in BGs.
Actually have two Shaman now since MoP Remix but I suppose my opinions are invalid. Thank you Blizz
So you haven’t played Enhance at all. So again, people who don’t play the spec suggest things that would hurt the spec. Hence the term Tourist. Most people who ask for 2hand are extreme casuals who don’t care about performance or don’t even main Enhance for and just play it as an alt. Your other suggestions I’d hold more weight to them since they apply to specs you actually have mained.
For context, Enhance’s framework is too linked to it being a DW spec due to proc rates and natural MSW generation. If they shove 2hand in we’re likely to get a situation similar to what happened to Frost DK going into Shadowlands where core issues were ignored trying to get 2hand to work/them nerfing the base kit to balance 2hand which has carryover to DW builds. It led to Frost DK being nigh unplayable for the first season 1 of SL and then getting poor changes over 3-4 years until about halfway in DF when they were finally able to get it to work properly but then again that’s how DnD cleave got solidified for Frost.
Best case is we just ignore its implementation and have loot acquisition from the vault and M+ dungeons completely borked because now we get useless 2handers eating up vault slots. After all, we have no way of excluding weapon types.
Beyond the absolute necessities like “Make Ele’s Tempest inherit Lightning Bolt’s modifiers,” and “Completely redesign Enhance Totemic,” I don’t know what to hope for with this little time to go before pre-patch.
A second defensive button, or at least a second charge on Astral Shift.
A Reincarnation rework, or at least increasing the health return/lowering the cooldown.
Windfury made a class-wide baseline raid aura instead of a spec talent for a party-only maintenance buff.
All those stupid 2 point totem talents reduced to 1 point.
A model update on Ascendance before it literally becomes Classic content, preferably to something completely unrelated to its current Elemental Skeletor look (and with a gat-dang female version if it’s still a humanoid model).
My expectations are at rock bottom, but my standards remain higher. If they actually do more than half the things on that list, I will be pleasantly surprised. But I won’t be impressed until they do significantly more than get us to where most spec designs were a year ago.
Remix is not a remotely good example of how anything plays in the real game, or place to learn such.
I definitely like the look of 2-handed Enhancement and would totally play it… but I also recognize the sheer level of rework necessary to implement it is just not going to happen. Blizzard would probably be better off just introducing a 4th spec, Earthwarder, that uses 2-handed weapons and may or may not be a tank spec.
Swinging a giant hammer that causes earthquakes and volcanic eruptions when you slam the ground would be really epic.
Only issue is what it would do to the class tree. Druids have continually ran into issues because the of the sheer number of talents that have to get shoved in and it feels really bad having to say path through a bunch of Feral talent’s playing Boomkin. The only way they avoid that is if they stuck pretty much everything into the Spec tree of the hypothetical tank spec which I imagine would just cause it to be incredibly inflexible due to limited number of points.
It’s a dream but dreams are often fantastical and nonsencial while failing to fit within the bounds of reality
I’m really hoping they add in a transmog option at this point. I would totally would transmog a 2hander over my DW weapons but I absolutely do not want it as a gameplay feature.
I think the easiest way to give people 2h enhance without messing with how the spec plays would be to just make it so we can transmog 2h weapons. Frost DKs, for instance, can use a 2h weapon but use their legion artifact appearance to get a dual wielded transmog.
Please no. Leave Enhance alone and make tanking a new spec instead. Its what they should have done with melee survival instead of taking away a ranged option.
