That survival tree looks terrible?
There are some redeeming qualities, and a bunch of the talents are salvageable if the costs were not ridiculous. It can be fixed.
As is, it’s really bad though.
I didn’t realise that not only did Spearhead rip off The Hunt but it also just uses the icon of The Hunt. So 2 out of 3 of the capstone talents are just ripped from other melee classes. Solid unique Hunter spec design right here.

Yea, the tree is complete trash. Thats without a doubt.
Even if they lowered the cost that doesn’t fix the abhorrent overall quality of the tree, the pure failure from a mechanical standpoint, and even worse is the failure from a identity view.
There is nothing good about the surv tree.
Honestly, the generic tree isnt that much better.
I think not enough is said about how much of SV is just ripped off other specs and classes including BM. I don’t know how anyone can call it a unique spec with the sheer degree of imitation. It looks like the buff Coordinated Assault is called Bestial Pact so they aren’t even hiding it.
Everyone who ever said that ranged SV was just copying from MM should rethink things a bit because it was never this bad.
I wish they’d put more emphasis on traps and poisons for the central path with highlight talents like, for example;
Sonic Trap: Slows down casts and attacks for those who stay in its radius.
Confusion Trap: Enrages Targets and drives them to attack their nearest target relentlessly whether it is friend or foe.
And for the final talent they could bring back the Legion version of Black Arrow (if they’re not going to give it back to MM) , maybe rename it as Void Strike, so we get to fight a temporary shadow pet alongside our regular pet.
I think it’s an "ok " Talent tree but I had low expectations as there was going to be nothing new and 100% recycled content and it wouldn’t be a drastic change cause of balancing. But they need to drop all the 3-point talents to 2 points at least and make Raptor strike baseline. then they need to merge all the harpoon talents into a single 2-point node and move lung below it and add in a leech passive node that either works with all damage or just Raptor strike/mongoose bite just below lunge or to the side of mongoose bite branching off. Then move Fury of eagle up in lunges old node location and add in wildfire cluster as an upgrade at the end of the bomb side the tree instead.
And adding Camouflage as a base skill and heal and makng its current node into a upgrade version.
Im not a designer so I only feel ok with suggesting a slight tweak cause I can imagine all the great stuff people have suggested so far though better suggestions than mine sound like a monster to balance.
this guy know nothing… SURVIval is TERRIBLE! it need to be fix accordingly and the base tree middle tier is the worst among all classes

I don’t think the SV tree is in a good place at all, far from it. I think there are some interesting talents, I think there are way too many filler “Ability Y does X% more damage” talents, I think there are way too many 3 point talents, and I think a lot of the tree needs serious adjustment.
It has the potential to be good, with a lot of design work. That is not remotely the same as saying it is good now.
