Sadly DF will be more of the same.
I don’t think work orders will go as well as they seem to believe it will.
If you grinded out R4 legendaries early on, there was no reason to “craft for someone with their mats” - for a much lower profit.
What sunk legendaries was primarily the fact that lower ranks became meaningless very quickly since players could skip ranks. That then meant that no one was buying R1,R2,R3 … turning all of those into a giant gold sink and barrier to entry for the R4 crafts.
This led to a small population of legendary crafters and inflated prices (especially early on). That was then compounded on servers that have been allowed to remain near dead for far too long.
Now I understand the entitlement…
This is why I don’t care about legendaries. I’ve been around this hill too many times.
They actually are planning to do that but something happened with the logistics and they need you to send me 40% of what you will eventually be refunded in order to free up the paper work.
You’ll get it all back, i promise.
You should absolutely consider reading what you ‘sign’ then.
It’s states clearly in the EULA that you are [paraphrasing here] renting access to the game, and have no ownership over anything within including anything you pay real money for.

You spent that gold for an item for an expansion and it was useful for that expansion.
Blizzard isn’t going to give you a refund for an item you got a use out of because in the next expansion you’ll replace it.
Sad to say this but it is obviously not going to happen. You bought this from a player, the system don’t track how much you paid for it.
Did OP actually expect slands legendaries to be useful in DF content? That’s… quite an assumption.

you paid gold for use of the legendaries… you got to use the legendaries. pretty simple.
Yes because we know that legendries have always been useful in the next xpac. Just look at all the other legendries in game…what was that? They got replaced in the next xpac! But what about the Legion ones or BFA? I know people are still using Thunderfury!

You got use out of your Legendaries for the extent of the expansion. It’s like buying a BoE from a previous expansion: You’re replacing that with a green come next expac.
