There is no benefit

The jokes that are being removed are harmless, the game is rated T for teens and above. I’m all for removing characters named after people fired for misconduct but spending Dev time removing and modifying innuendo is a ridiculous knee-jerk reaction. All it will get is people on one side saying it’s “Woke” over reaction and people on the other side saying it’s window dressing to cover the real issue. Removing flirty dialog is not going to fix Blizzard’s “Cosby Suite” issue.

IMO, it's not by choice

I don’t think they’re removing the flirts and censoring stuff by choice. It’s to fight off the lawsuit, and I don’t know what could happen if they don’t beat it. Blizzard might be worse off if they lose. A huge fine, which may force them to lay off even more people. It might even lead to closure, meaning no more patches for WoW, No Diablo 4, no OW2, no nothing. Or worse, the state might take control and do the clean up themselves, and they might do an even worse job. I see this as a regrettable…

Honestly Before the News Of the Emotes Being Removed

When was the last time you used them? I can understand on an RP server. But usually that involves /em (Custom emote). I can honestly say, that the only emotes I can recall using in the past 2 years are /point, /no and /fart a few times. Even then, It doesnt bother me one tiny bit that several are being removed. I have seen a few places that blizzard Devs are taken to the hard streets of wow and making all these ingame changes: from name changes to bowls of fruit to area zone changes FOR the players - BECAUSE WE ARE BLIZZARD ARE LISTENING!
