Would be fun though for sure!
According to the roadmap graphic they put out, it will be winter 2025
no definitley not everyone wants this… and the devs themselfs ALWAYS said this was meant to be a re-discovery of classic (hence the whole name.) ever since the initial announcement at blizzcon. rewatch the announcement my friend they have been saying the same thing since day 1.
I have 0 interest in seeing any flying mount whatsoever. Hard no from me.
Only reason i want SoD TBC is for the draenei and bloodelves for the class balance for alliance and horde. I want to play shaman but all of my friends are playing alliance, so i dont get to experience that.
TBC as actual content is… even more of a grind than vanilla, as the attunement chains are massive and are a HUGE timesink that i and im sure many other people just simply dont have the time for.
I don’t think it would make sense at all for SoD to go to TBC. We have abilities from TBC and WotLK combined it would be a nightmare to sync it all.
SoD should (and probably would) remain confined to the classic map and talents where they can add more content after naxx but not bring higher level/flying mounts.
Alternate timeline, who knows where we’re going.
Well vanilla is a really good game when it comes to self imposed challenges and well vanilla is a really good template to add new content on simple as there is much more demand for vanilla plus then tbc or wrath plus. tbc and wrath have less to expand on.
I dont want a TBC SOD, no thanks.
What’s the point.
The Rune versions of abilities are Wrath-era (lol, remember when Avenger’s Shield had a cast time so you couldn’t use it while actively tanking; while casting you have no avoidance).
The only thing ‘added’ would be the content (ie: raids, dungeons, zones, quests).
…and, again, what’s the point. We already did that. I’d wager most of us played, at the very least, Classic TBC.
On top of all that, I go back to this:
The more expansions WoW has, the less content it has to do.
“But that’s not true!” - Yes. Yes it is. Look at the total number of raids Retail WoW has. Now. How many of those raids are actually ‘current content’, meaning they give you upgrades. The same applies for zones and dungeons.
Now, I would be fine if SoD TBC was done as it was originally intended to release, as a Content Patch; no level increase, no substantial jump in ilvl, and limited (at the time) to HFP. With HFC being, likely, a raid*
*Yep, I think HFC was going to be a raid, and each ‘instance portal’ was their take on a ‘teleport’ (think Naxx and the ‘end wing portal back to the hub’). Mag is such a let down as a raid…even worse than Ony’s in terms of scale vs ‘classed as a raid’. I think we were suppose to go Ramps (get a key) → Shattered Halls (get a key) → BF (get a key) → access Mag’s holding cell. Similar to ZG and defeating each boss to make Hakkar weaker. - The size of each 5man (in TBC) is pretty ‘roomy’ for just 5 players.
Straight to ICC and free Arthas. SL never happens. The timeline is fixed.
I wish they just added the races to SoD, without the Dark portal stuff.
because most the classes already have a near or post tbc state. the transition to tbc talents and abilities would basically just being removing runes
i could see them adding caverns of time and Zul Aman in though
