So uhm... who won the fourth war?

So BFA is considered the fourth war. Not counting the conflicts in classic or mop as being fourth war whatever. But who won?

Orcs won 1st. Humans won second. Arthas won third.

Who won the fourth?

No one won.
It ended in a truce.

Orignally stated that Alliance won, but that made some people mad so Blizzard decided to say it was a tie.

Technically, sure. That said, the Horde lost its Warchief, both Warfronts, replaced its system of government, and its most visible leadership is solidly pro-Alliance so I’d say team blue came out ahead.

That was because she had a hissy fit and ran away. It wasnt because of the alliance.

Because Blizzard had to make her the big bad

Because they were in areas where it made sense for the Horde to lose, all things considered

Because the one ruler over all tends to pigeonhole stories

Only because Blizzard wrote themselves into a corner and had to back pedal when tey made the Horde the bad guys and the only way they could do such was make those leaders fill tilt pro-alliance instead of making them the voices of the middle ground which is what they should be.

Seriously, before MoP and BFA, one could be pro-peace without being pro-alliance, but the way the story was written, anyone that came out as pro-peace was labeled pro-alliance.

I never said it was the Alliance’s doing. I just said they came out ahead.

lol, the horde are now a “democratic” puppet state.

I dunno.
Neither side seemed to really lose anything from the war other than 2 cities.

And yeah the horde lost its leader and formed a council. But the leader lead them into a war to try and kill them all. So no real loss there. And the council is there to make sure they dont have a third faction leader go crazy.

I feel they came out pretty even.
Although im sure thats for game reasons and not story reasons

The war profiteers.

I think that’s because the alliance themselves were more antagonistic. It’s easy to be pro-peace and not pro-alliance when the alliance were headed by Varian “kill 'em all, orcish dogs” wrynn, but anduin in particular pushed a peace agenda and therefore rejecting the alliance by necessity meant rejecting peace; the two became entwined.

personally as an alliance player i found it just as frustrating as you because it just felt less like we had the moral high ground and more that we became spineless punching bags, less turning the other cheek and more “uwu is my backbone offering too much resistance for your boots, sir?”. for that reason i will be voting for lightbound exarch yrel in 11.0! BRING ON THE PURGE.

But did promoting peace have to mean being pro-alliance, like the peace could have been done by limiting contact between the factions, a you leave us alone, we’ll leave you alone, deal.

Yeah I’d have to say pretty much everyone lost one way or the other in BFA. I think the only way to win was not to play
