It’s a toy. You can have different rules for different things. There’s no “slippery slope”. Getting duck colors doesn’t mean you suddenly log in and have full bis in your mailbox or whatever disaster scenario you envision.

It’s a toy.
they have to write code and make it do what you want.
you want a thing. it’s a toy. you want it, so you deserve it?
Are you aware that some toys sell for 500 usd from the collectors card game edition?
You don’t just get to say what it is, and say give it to people.
I like pvp. And yet literally everything I like about pvp was taken away from me.
It’s pvp. you can turn wm off.
naw, that’s not how it works. you don’t get free stuff because it’s harmless. they gave you a thing, now everyone is crying that they didn’t give you enough.
ok bud. I feel like you’re super close to quoting some unhinged jordan peterson rant at me at this point about the downfall of western society or something so I’m going to bed. I’m sorry you dont get to gank alliance anymore.
It’s all about mood for me. Today I feel like a black duck. Tomorrow I may want to be pink or brown or whatever. If I see too many white ducks around, I may want to change to look different or I may want to change to blend in.
I’m upset about this whole thing because there was no indication that this was not account-wide and I grabbed the colors in order of my characters handing in the quest rather than what made sense for each character. I would have chosen more wisely if I’d had any inkling that this was going to be character based. They need a better visual indicator if they want to add more things of this nature. Also, not being able to use the toy at all unless you did the quest on that specific character feels extra punishing to alt players and and it sends the completely opposite message of alt friendly they’ve been toting.
I feel like this is too minor an item to have to invest six years in order to gain all the appearances. That kind of time sink just seems disproportionate to the reward.
I think the concept of a toy that gains appearances over time isn’t a bad one, I just don’t like how this one was implemented.
i dont know why people are surprised by this
Dear players:
We want to respect your time.
We will not.
Having to unlock each colour on each character is ridiculous and goes against the current move to open achievements/rep/options account-wide.
I’ve unlocked a different colour for six different toons (of my sixty). Why make this more difficult than it has to be?
Please change this.
Im sure someone who is working on getting their final color duck that year would care.
Agreed thats just being spiteful.
“ooh look at all this stuff you Cant get… Oh my, sucks to be you!”
They should have just added a new color in every year for the next 5 years
“oh hey this year weʻve added a new color duck to get! Have fun!”
I mostly meant that ducks seem kinda like a DF thing. It seems weird to make a short term trend a long term project.
I agree that if it was only one color this year, and they added one each year it wouldn’t FEEL as bad. but it would still be less total fun, in my opinion of course
i dont really anticipate playing wow 6 years into the future
each toon is gonna get their duck color and that’ll have to be it i guess (unless they change it)
let’s be real, how many times in your life do you really think you will ever use this toy? There’s no way it’s more than 30. It’s a non issue, move on.
What’s funny is I thought the duck color in my bag was unrelated to the toy and deleted it on my main. lol oh well, I’ll probably never use it anyway.
RIP Warbands, I guess.
