So, uh, Ve'nari in 9.2.5. (9.2.5 Spoilers)

Brought up in the Secret Finders, not something most people would really notice unless they were paying attention, which is sad considering how important Ve’nari is.

EDIT: The Triggers for this “quest” requires completing all of Ve’nari’s Rule quests (which requires Exalted), as well as the entirety of the Zereth Mortis questline, ending with Sylvanas’s Trial.

For those who haven’t been in the Maw yet, when you arrive, Ve’nari is now a purple “ghost” - translucent. She leaves us with a recorded message, however. (if you talk to her, you get the dialogue option, she also has all the same usual stuff)

Once you’ve read this message in the Maw, and head to the Creation Catalyst in Zereth Mortis…

Yea. Ve’nari’s corpse. She’s dead. Off screen. With no warning.

…but that’s not all! If you’re an Engineer (which I happen to be, so when I went to investigate the image from discord, I was greeted with an extra dialogue option when interacting with her corpse)

So… it seems to imply it isn’t Ve’nari, but she possibly faked her death? But at the same time - if you aren’t an engineer and don’t have an engineer, we’re just led to believe Ve’nari, arguably one of the most important NPCs in Shadowlands, just… died off screen randomly.

Thoughts?

It is one of those things that you just have to sit and wait on to see if it ever bears fruition.

Horridly annoying. I love Ve’nari, and am working on her rep with my new main.

Probably a hint to as who she truly is. She may be connected to the first ones. Probably a trickster diety. Or setting up the plot for a first ones threat. As the spider mech loa hints Zereth Mortis was made for mortals to be put in by probably the first ones. And he sounded evil ehile saying.

Hmm, my main hasn’t yet been able to enter the maw to do the cost of death weekly, Morgeth, the shadehound hunt & covenant assault since the servers came up

Indepth story telling, things that you have to go out of your way to find, are cool. Do you prefer a straightforward story with no inspired intrigue and everyone able to guess: “Ok, this is how the story is obviously going to go”?

The fact that engineers get that extra tid-bit is a good thing. Adds flavor.

Ok so actually the Primus is the big bad guy who was controlling the jailer (see: wowhead article about it), and Venari has been working for the Primus this whole time!

How else did we need to unlock the Primus (I mean Runecarver who totally wasn’t obviously the Primus), and Venari’s all like “oh hey I randomly found an item that will free him check this out”
